Sonja (60) werkt als shunter bij International Car Operators in Zeebrugge. Dit logistieke havenbedrijf gespecialiseerd in de behandeling en opslag van roll-on/roll-off cargo heeft vestigingen in zowel Antwerpen als Zeebrugge. Als shunter rijdt Sonja met haar collega’s geïmporteerde wagens van de ene terminal naar de andere. Ze voegt toe: “Al 12 jaar heb ik het privilege splinternieuwe auto’s als eerste te besturen.”
Het grootste pluspunt van de job? De wagens! “Elke dag brengt nieuwe verrassingen. Nadat de dokwerkers de voertuigen van de aangemeerde schepen hebben gereden, kom ik in het plaatje om de auto van de ene terminal naar de andere te brengen. Eenmaal achter het stuur denk ik altijd na over de toekomstige eigenaar van de gloednieuwe wagen. Wie wordt zijn volgende chauffeur? Welke delen van de wereld zal de auto zien? Enzovoort. De ‘levensloop’ van een wagen, van begin tot einde, is een zeer fascinerend traject.”
Ook de buitenlucht kan Sonja zeker bekoren, tenminste als de weergoden haar goed gezind zijn: “Het is fijn om samen met collega’s voortdurend buiten te werken. Soms moeten we samen een poosje wachten en vertellen elkaar dan mopjes of dollen wat. Wanneer de regen met bakken uit de lucht valt, is het wachten iets minder rooskleurig. Maar ook hitte kan voor onaangename scenario’s zorgen, maar daarover wijd ik nu niet uit.”

My first roll on my Moskva V. I had set up the camera to shoot 6x9 negatives but was advancing the film using the 6x6 setting. So a lot of overlap & double exposure here.
On the plus side, the camera seems technically sound. Focus appears to work. Lens seems good. I just need to practice with it more.
Oh, also my scanner can't handle 6x9 negatives. Which made this even weirder. In future I'll have to use a different scanner or stitch two scans together.
Shot on a Moskva 5 using very old T-Max 100. Pulled 1 stop due to age. Developed in Cinestill df96. Scanned using my Olympus OM-D E-M53 and a Takumar 50/4 macro.
