This Week in Bristol Indiana - 11-6-19. House and Garage Demolition.
The weather held for the several days demolition of the house at the southeast corner of Charles and Elkhart Sts. Contractor Barnes Excavating Service of Bristol, Indiana brought dumpsters to begin tearing down the house and garage. The house was still filled with many abandoned household items, including three couches and a number of mattresses and personal items. These items were not salvageable, and filled half of the first two dumpsters. Demolition began on garage and then back portion of the house, including the kitchen. The work was done from the back toward the front to avoid having to block Charles Street. Once the upstairs had been collapsed, the front portion facing Charles street was leveled. The cement slab and basement walls were removed. An orange safety fence was erected over the hole. The property was purchased by the Town of Bristol who plans to fashion a half-covered roof area with parking to be used for various public events in the town. Construction will be started in Spring 2020.

There was a fab installation that all kids of all ages were loving: a huge metropolis with cars whizzing around it.
