Week 2 Cathy Johnson Strathmore online class. I used the wax paper (rather than plastic wrap) for shadows on path. I lliked that it also could be a puddle.
I am taking an online class from mixed media artist, Carla Sonheim this week and these are some of my results. It has been great fun creating these guys!

I took Mary Ann Moss' online class and made my very first remains of the day journal. The journal measures about 15x21 cm.

inside of my life stories journal for Kara's class. I'd like to say that another thing I'm LOVING about this class is that its helping me use up a lot of stuff I already had laying around. One of my new year's resolutions was to use up some old scrap stuff.
These are just about the first parts of my life. I wrote about how I'm blessed with a creative family that has always supported me. :]

I did a shoot with Kelby Training yesterday (04Aug) at Bourbon Street Night Club in New Port Richie as part of the upcoming Concert Photography online class and DVD hosted by Scott Diussa and Alan Hess. I was one of the pit photographers. We got to shoot two bands, including this one, Rise II Brutality, who play Death Metal. They really had a huge amount of energy and gave their all, even though they were just performing for 5 photographers and a video crew.
Now I started shooting concerts when I was at the University of Tennessee, where I majored in Drinking and minored in "Social Studies". My first published image was of a local band called Rhodes & Rhodes that appeared in the Knoxville News Sentinel. Since this was in the days before digital, the best we available to us for this low light work was TMAX 3200 black & white. For this reason I think I still gravitate to this look for my concert photography today. I'm really glad to be getting back into this again and hope I can do it more often between aviation gigs if for nothing else than to stay sharp.
My thanks to Scott, Alan, and my other fellow pit shooters, Brad Moore and Krysten Marlette and of course the guys at Kelby. Can't wait to see the finished product, and of course, more images to come.
Teaching kids now about computer technology and online classes will prepare them for what they will run into in the future, giving them a heads up and an advantage to online learning.

I'm loving Alisa Burke's Sketchbook Delight online class: www.alisaburke.com/onlineworkshops/newsketchbookdelight.html
I've always felt guilty painting from photos- why is that? I don't feel very creative out in public so why NOT paint from photos? They are MY photos anyway. This is from my trip to the JC Raulston Aboretum in Raleigh. Thank you for the inspiration Alisa!
my entree for the "Thankful" assignment on my online class... we were to post photos of things we are thankful for so mine is for God & music :-)
These are watercolor faces for an online class called, appropriately, 'Faces' taught by Carla Sondheim. I love her classes. She's fun and funny and there is zero pressure. And I learn so much from her. So this is the first day's painting exercise.
I won this stamp from the Holiday Workshop Online Class!! I finally had a chance to ink it up. I thought the pop of red in the sentiment really added alot!
