Les Olympiades, just next to my current work place. Housing in the 60s that was filled with Asian immigrants, helping to create Paris's largest China Town.

it was fun to fold, but in the end really stresful... (I had big problems with Mr. Rabbit)
first time I tried to fold from CP, kolia is perfect model and I really enjoyed it!

it was great, it's a pity I couldn't find time to make also last task - create own model based on Eric Joisel's models (finally I got an idea and started to realize it, but I gave it up at 23:30 last night:)

LR_AYA7014 - Well he probably cycled a little way, not to sure about the running but certainly swam a fair bit. Is it Giant Haystack or Mick McManus waiting for the Olympic committee decision if to include wrestling or not, well they did. Sadly Mick also known as the "The Man You Love to Hate", "Rugged South London Tough Guy" and "The Dulwich Destroyer". died this year after giving many of us in the UK entertainment on a Saturday afternoon.
Have a great Saturday still trying to catch up after losing Flickr yesterday, but looks like rain today

Browsing Arch Daily today, i noticed an article on Les Olympiades, which is a housing complex in the heart of the 13th Arrondissement in Paris. So I decided to repost a photo that I took there a couple of years ago.
There was apparently an exhibit on this district at the Pavilion de l'Arsenal in February and March of this year. I was in Paris at the time, but didn't know about it or I definitely would have gone.
At one time, Les Olympiades were seen as the realisation of a modern utopia. "Better living through architecture" and all that. Architects as social engineers, I guess. It didn't quite work out that way.
My wife lived in one of these apartment towers as a kid, and I went to college in another, the first year after arriving in Paris back in the mid-90s. It's now in the heart of what has become one of the city's two main "Chinatowns" (the other being Belleville). So the pagoda rooflines are particularly apt and prescient, I suppose.
Anyway, despite its failure as a social experiment and a vision of modern utopia, I still think it's a pretty interesting place, and has a certain beauty.

Taken a couple of weeks ago, when two lovely phycially more mature took to the high sea with a young companion, hats off to you girls for giving a go. Just at this moment the lady said something to her friend, unable to tell you what it was due to the noise of the wind and the crashing surf (well waves to some). The younger companion lasted about two minutes :)
I admit that shot could have been of the sky or the beach as my body was automatically attempting to assume the fetal position having learnt from previous experiences.
