An ancient tree with a face...and a heart......slumbering until the sun retires, the moon rises and the breeze blows...when all trees speak to one another in their own language while the loud creatures of the daylight hours are restful and silent. So is it a tree or is it an Ent? Wake him and find out if you can!
When I walk past old or ancient trees and see a face, it always stops me in my tracks...why is that? I saw this o9ld timer along the boundary of a farmers field....two other old trees were close by. There are some interesting legends, myths, history, and stories surrounding trees....some good information and unique points of view can be found by reading the following blogs and articles:

This avenue of Sweet Chestnut trees and a few Oak trees is a sight to behold in this un-seasonal autumn sunshine.
Me admiring the size of this giant tree in Iriomote-jima's lush rainforest.
Due to a rather Sunny day beyond the jungle canopy it was quite difficult to get the exposure right on this shot, but the Sony A7R did a great job at balancing the brightness of the sky vs the shadows of the jungle floor. Well done Sony!
Iriomote island (Iriomote-jima) is the largest of the Yaeyama islands in Okinawa prefecture.
90% of the island is covered by pristine rainforest, untouched mangrove swamps, spectacular jungle waterfalls, huge rivers with marine life in abundance, beautiful secluded white sand beaches and lots of wildlife.

Yesterday at work my manager rang up a little boy and his sister. I was not doing my job and trying on this jacket that I always put on my body. Amy (my mananger) was like "you really like that jacket huh beelee". The little boy who was at the register asked how much it was. I didn't hear him ask, then Amy asked me. She asked is that 22.50 or 29.50? and i replyed with 29.50. and then continuted to gaze at myself in the mirror. Then Amy asked the little boy if he was going to buy it for me, or if he liked me. and he replied with "no, i don't like her or anything but my dad always says that if you do something nice for someone it comes back to you later in life". He didn't have enough money to buy it for me. I didn't even know that any of that happened until they left and Amy told me about it. The kid was 14 years old, how many 14 year olds act like that nowadays? not many, that's for sure. Another question, why would a 14 year old want to buy something for a complete stranger, someone he doesn't even know to make them happy? What he said has always been a part of what I believe as well, if you do nice things and make others happy. You will get good things in turn as well. Although I never have enough money to make many of my friends happy. I am very dedicated to the friendships we both share. I can't count how many times people just stop the friendship. They just quit talking to me, and it isn't just them. it takes two to have a friendship, and it must be mutual to work out... but it hurts sometimes, but if someone stops talking to me... i can't do anything about it. All I could possibliy do is add them to my list of friends that has failed to work out. I've already given my friendship to them, I gave them something good. I don't cause problems or drama. I give them what I can to make them happy. All I want to do is talk, and be a friend. Besides what would you do without a friend to talk to? I've been there too many times where it feels like you have no one to talk to, or laugh with. I'm so thankful for the few people that have stuck around for so long my list for true friendships is very small, but it's worth more than money to me. That 14 year old reminded me of what is true. Money is nothing, love and care for others and give them something to remember you by.
I want to be remembered.
One person’s garbage is another person’s treasure. The Keys are littered with abandoned boats. I came upon this one near our home. The Coast Guard refers to these as “derelict” or “abandoned” vessels. The government’s website has a definition for the two: ‘“Derelict” frequently refers to vessels that are dilapidated with an identifiable owner, while “abandoned” vessels are those where the owner is unknown or has surrendered rights of ownership. Vessels become abandoned and derelict for many reasons.’
I’m not sure why they stay sitting as an attractive nuisance without being removed by the authorities but it gives me another photo backdrop. I need to get back out here on a starry night. Until then Tracey is my Siren.

I love old trees and whenever I find one while walking in the forest I stop and admire it for a short while. Where I live there are many forests but they are mainly young and logged extensively. It is rare to find old, decaying trees, which is a sign of a forest that has attained considerable age without significant disturbance. There is logging in Tollymore Forest but old trees can be found in considerable numbers and they give the forest character and a touch of magic.
