Do you remember? How to make your frontlight glow back then? A generator was driven by your frontwheel (and making the pedalling a little bit harder).
Nowadays it's the other way around. Heavy batteries are helping you pedal with no or less effort faster than you could ever run back then.
So no generator anymore. And the lights are getting their power from the same battery, which also helps you pedal with less effort.

Am gestrigen Sonntag hatte Railflex statt der sonst üblichen MaK G1206 das 60 Jahre alte Schmuckstück am Hollandkalk im Einsatz.
Leider ein trüber Herbsttag ohne Sonne, aber so konnte man zumindest eine Fotostelle wählen, die bei Sonne eben nicht geht.
212 039 schlängelte sich mit elf Kalkwagen talwärts, die dann in Duisburg-Wedau an DB Cargo für die Weiterfahrt nach Holland übergeben wurden.
Der Chef auf der Lok dürfte die kleine Sonderfahrt erklären, denn der fährt ja auch gerne mal durchs schöne Angertal.
