This is the other photo of the Two Ways of Looking at Love (i) photo. I think I posted it earlier, but did a half-hearted job at making it look nice. It's now looking considerably better. This couple was making out and cuddling full force for a solid five minutes (or at least the entire length that we were in the room) or so, and didn't really seem to mind the pictures

In good news, I got back an estimate from Canon to repair my camera and it's not as bad as I thought. Still not really what I needed at a time when I had several other hundreds-of-dollars-well-okay-thousands of expenses to take care of, but I shall be getting it back in about two weeks, so whooo. I was all jazzed about getting the XTi, but now I believe I am going to try and be a dutiful little saver and get the higher end replacement, for either the 30D or the 5D. Something far too expensive, but I wish to be serious about this. Hopefully coming soon...and there will certainly be a print drive attached. :)

I sold a print of one of my photos the other day. Happiness. Used the money to buy this new book, What It Is, by Lynda Barry! Double happiness!

Smokin' hot-off-the-press and available locally in Madison at Room, as well as online direct from D&Q. I can't wait to devour this beautiful volume. But I want to savor it and make it last, too! Ack, what to do, what to do?!

I took a GREAT workshop with Lynda in February called Writing the Unthinkable, which I highly recommend for anyone with a soul (Hey, guess what? That's everyone.)

Strangely, there isn't an upcoming book signing or workshop in Madison on her schedule yet (?!!!) Must be an administrative oversight, which I'm sure will be remedied soooooooon. Esp if you email her personal secretary and demand it! Nicely. fromthedeskofmarlys@yahoo.com

"Yes Barney, she'll probably throw it in a minute, just be patient... wag your tail and stay calm."

"Aargh!! Nooo.Can't stay still. Must. Jump. Around! Must bounce and STARE and then bounce some more. It encourages her, you know!"

"Well, my way works just as well... you ask any normal dog!"

"PAH! I don't believe it... you should jump to the left and then to the right and then stare for a bit and stalk her and stuff."

"I was playing fetch with Meg, before you were a twinkle in your mummy's eye and my way has always worked."

"Yeah. Yeah. Whatever! Well, I'm gonna get the ball before you do anyway!"

"Can't I catch it for once, Barney?"

"Nope. I'm gonna get it. It's too dangerous for you. Only properly trained ball catching dogs can catch tennis balls.

"But... but... I was catching balls 4 years before you were even born. I KNOW how to catch a ball Barney"

"Tough. I run faster than you and it's MINE!"

"Shhh... Meg's gonna throw it soon, I can tell, I can always tell. Now let me get the ball first.... or I'll bounce on your head!"

Double trouble! They're a funny pair. I'm not always a huge fan of little dogs, but Dilly has always been treated like a "proper dog", not a baby and she loves racing in the mud, playing fetch and hunting bunnies, oh, and she doesn't yap or behave bossily with other dogs!! She's a real character, I love her to bits :) Barney's mostly indifferent towards his sidekick but I think he's fond of her in his own odd collie kind of way ;-)

We went to Turkey recently for Mrs Bloos son's honeymoon (don't ask) and we took the trip over to Rhodes. So the kids and Mrs Bloo took a wander to look round. I've lived in Greece so I kinda know the place pretty well, so I was having a beer instead and chatting to the owners of the bar. There's a little crappy fountain in front and I noticed it was being photographed alot. Fuck knows why. So I started snapping the snappers. The contrast in the sort of people taking the pictures was fascinating. And it's always great to see the facial expressions. Check out the last two shots of the same fella in the bottom right. He clocked what I was doing and gave me an arsey look. Mint.

Late breakfast at Toast,

Took along my new camera and had to try it out. I Love it!

it has auto bracketing which is wonderful, That saved many shots but I was suprised that when I transfered the pics to the PC it said 300+ files! ohyeah, three exposures per shot, camera holds 650 plus with the 2gig card!

my name is angela and i used to take a lot of photos.

and when i kind of stopped, i started to go to the mountain to walk and be inspired and take photos of me in the bathroom so if i am attacked and killed, at least everyone will know where i was. assuming the crazed murderer does not wipe my card.

and yeah. but i didn't really take any photos.

but i did make a new friend, a man with his dog, who gave me a whole lot of history on the houses around the mountain as we walked.

and told me all about his 91 year old mum. and yeah. i guess if i am so worried about crazed mountain murderers, i really should not be making friends on the mountain.

any how, hi:). i miss having friends to take photos with. just saying.
