Romeo and Juliet, designed by artist Rachel Feinstein in 2019 for HYxOffTheWall at Hudson Yards, was inspired from a short film the artist made for the Met Opera's production of Romeo and Juliet, depicting the two title characters exchanging glances from across an opulent party from the famed ballroom scene. Architectural elements, along with the guests, are meticulousy cut out and rendered in varying layers to create a sense of depth.
HYxOffTheWall, on exhibit at The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards from March 2019 to January 2020, features large-scale tableaus, interactive displays and murals from 13 artists. The exhibit was curated and produced by CultureCorps.

70 x 6 inches
Courtesy the artist and ACE Gallery, Los Angeles, CA
Value: $6,000
Staring Bid: $2,000
Everyone I Can Remember is the creative culmination of Adams’ attempt to remember and recognize
everyone she has ever known. Creating small placards out of recycled plastic jugs, Adams etched each
person's name onto an individual placard. She then strung these placards together to create a hanging
sculptural work.

Combing Season, was created by artist Misaki Kawai in 2019 for HYxOffTheWall. This bright, colorful, dog-centric creation for OFF THE WALL features a bright yellow space, peppered with floating dog bones. Viewers are welcomed to sit on Kawai’s “Chewey YUM YUM” bench or to interact directly with the playful wall, where three comb-able dog paintings hang, waiting to be groomed.

Lorenzo E. Hurtado Segovia
By Deborah Calderwood III, 2008
Acrylic and oil on gessoed paper
36 x 27 inches
Courtesy the artist and CB1 Gallery, Los Angeles, CA
Value: $5,000
Starting Bid: $1,700
The paintings and works on paper titled "by Deborah Calderwood" are based on found childhood
drawings Deborah Calderwood made when she was eleven years of age. As the eleven-year old creator of the drawings upon which these works are based, Deborah Calderwood's name is painted onto most of the works, thus honoring and complicating their authorship. These works are emotionally and psychologically charged as Deborah grew up to be the woman the artist married, Deborah Hurtado Segovia. Each work directly borrows from the found drawing's pictured subject while amplifying their formal qualities through process, media, color and composition.

For HYxOffTheWall, Jeanette Hayes reflected the specific locale of her work juxtaposing the contemporary architecture of Hudson Yards with an Albert Bierstadt painting from 1868. This painting is an archetype of the Hudson River School, an artistic movement from the 19th century that reflected on discovery, exploration and settlement along the Hudson River. Hayes sees an alignment of this with the vision of Hudson Yards for a new era of community, culture, and commerce. The artist also incorporates viewer participation, with hidden QR codes embedded into her work. The infinite vastness of possibility that those artists saw in nature, Hayes sees in architecture, contemporary art and technology.
