I'm working on a project called Sustainable Howe Sound with the David Suzuki Foundation (sustainablehowesound.ca/).
From the website we're building... "Life in the waters of Howe Sound is rebounding after decades of harm from industrial activity. Planning for the future is the best way to protect the sound’s wildlife and communities. Sustainable Howe Sound is a platform for individuals and groups who share a commitment to protect Howe Sound. The end goal is a plan for land and marine environments guided by public and expert input.".
Our first visit was to Camp Firmcom (fircom.ca/) on Gambier Island. Check out the interview and photos! :)

In June of 2014, myself and three others set out on a 5 day 4 night kayak camping trip on the Pecos River in southwest Texas. Unfortunately our trip was ill-fated and the area we were in received record setting rainfall on the fourth day causing the river to rise dramatically (31 feet in an hour and a half) at which point we had to abandon all of our equipment and egress the canyon. We were rescued via helicopter a few hours later, and while we survived with no serious injuries we lost EVERYTHING including over 6K of my personal camera equipment. Two months later I got a call that some fishermen had found my cameras (in a pelican case) in the lake that is fed by this river. They found my camera equipment 50 miles away from where we had to egress. These are the "lost" photos from the trip.

I visited my niece's off-the-grid house located in bushland north of Orange, NSW. 14 solar PV panels provide power to a battery storage system. The windmill that pumps bore water can also be switched to generate power for the system. House is passive solar design with a composting toilet and beautiful views down the valley. But with bush all around, they will need a bushfire emergency plan.
The internet unravelled. Systems collapsed. Within days, the digital world vanished—no signals, no power, no fuel. Money, wages, pensions: gone. Transport ground to a halt. Yet, in the chaos, people endured. This series captures the resilience of those left to navigate a world stripped bare of technology

Commitment ceremony (at Off The Grid) since the day Jackie and Sarah booked with us. They are an inspiring couple, with amazingly supportive friends and family. All in Chucks.

At the moment it is charging my old HTC mobile and the old iPad as it played Leonard Cohen to my Bose speaker.

There are enough USB-A ports to power the Bose too, and at the same time as I charge the JS80. (it has pass-through charging...)
Now I am changing the Bose via the DC interface port on the JS80 with the supplied DC to cigarette lighter cable and the iTechWorld QC 3.0 (whatever that means) port to the Bose USB-A output interface via the Bose USB-A male to micro USB-B into the Bose Get all that lol...
