December 2007 - The '49M @ Armory NW, just a few weeks before we took our first real leap into mobile existence and off-the-grid operations.

Our Off the Grid, (No power due to PNM Mixup) March Monthly Meeting at Quelab. We were lighted and our teleconference laptop was running off of a inverter and a deep cycle battery. Internet was running of of a 12v battery powering our spare dsl modem.

Found this house online - it's everything I want in my next home. 24 acres of remote privacy, next to 4000 acres of state lands, end of a dead-end road, 2400 sq feet (yes, it's bigger than it looks).

I'm working on a project called Sustainable Howe Sound with the David Suzuki Foundation (sustainablehowesound.ca/).

From the website we're building... "Life in the waters of Howe Sound is rebounding after decades of harm from industrial activity. Planning for the future is the best way to protect the sound’s wildlife and communities. Sustainable Howe Sound is a platform for individuals and groups who share a commitment to protect Howe Sound. The end goal is a plan for land and marine environments guided by public and expert input.".

It's a beautiful Sunday before the heat gets too oppressive. The food trucks are lined bumper to bumper offering a wide variety of choices. The short green grass is plush to walk on, something I have not experienced for a bit. My sandaled feet feel humid as the moisture radiates upwards under the noon sun.

I want to say that this is the Korean BBQ Chicken. But it doesn't look like chicken to me.

It took about 4 hours to haul the beast from the AZ border back to beautiful Pasadena, CA in April of 2005. Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into.
