Inspector Charlotte Cadden of Greater Manchester Police’s Bury Division is joined by council staff and fellw officers to promote a crackdown on the antisocial use of off road bikes in the town.

Inspector Cadden, who commands the Bury East Neighbourhood Policing Team, poses by one of the new signs going up around the town warning people of police powers to seize vehicles under section 59 of the Police Reform Act.

These signs will act as a warning to those misusing off road bikes that police officers may seize their vehicles without issuing prior warnings.

It's not every day we get to roll out a new product, let alone one that we've been working to develop for months. We've been talking about it as a possibility for quite some time, but now it's for real: The Gaulzetti Inox is our stainless steel (KVA’s MS2 tubing)model and while it's a departure from every other stainless bike on the market, it is entirely in keeping with the Gaulzetti philosophy.

We will officially unveil the Inox this January 2012 and will be delivering our first production bikes shortly thereafter. We also plan to have at least one Inox at the handmade bicycle show in early March. More to come...

Austin firefighter, and ex-cycle courier, Mason O'Neal, was permitted an entry to the event by virtue of his courier emeritus status. A cyclist with considerable experience, he too already has a plan for what his new MS2 custom bicycle, built by Alchemy, will be.

"I've done just about every kind of racing, and I've ridden just about every type of material but stainless, so I'm very excited about this. The people at Alchemy explained that the ride quality of MS2 tubing is really great: it's responsive, comfortable, lightweight, so I'm looking forward to riding it. The bike is going to be a single-speed fixed gear, with geometry half way between road and track, with a couple of brake holes drilled. Something I could take to the Houston track and race, or throw some brakes on and do a fixed gear century. I have some track wheels with Phil Wood high flange hubs I think I'll use. I'm going to build up something killer!"

It didn't take him long to find out more. He said, "I didn't know about Alchemy before the race, but a couple of days after, I went to their workshop and looked around. I was highly impressed."

Mason may have surprised some of those present with his victory, but although his messenger skills are rusty, he went into the race knowing he was a contender. He said, "My main goal was just to qualify. A few years ago I was disappointed to miss the finals of the messengers' world championships when I thought I could have qualified, so for me the first thing was getting to the finals."

Once in the finals, did he expect that he could win it? "I've won a lot of bike races over the years, so I never count myself out. You got to have a bit of luck, some other riders had flats, but it all went well for me."

The Suzuki V-Storm DL650 inherits much of its mechanical equipment and running performance from the successful SV-650, but it’s fitted with an adventure touring bodywork, upright bars, and a long travel suspension.

This multipurpose motorcycle from Suzuki behaves pretty well either on tarmac or light to moderate off-road conditions.

KVA STAINLESS (MS2 patented tubing technology) is working with a company that has invented a new patented carbon technology. The two companies are developing new hybrid bicycle tubing that incorporates the carbon technology with MS2 tubing to produce bike frames for road and mountain bikes. Because of the characteristics of the different materials, this multi-material tube structure has the potential to be up to 30% lighter than the original stainless steel tubing, has improved bending/torsion performance, and better vibration damping qualities for a more comfortable ride.

This multi-material tubing possess unique vibration damping qualities due to the dissimilar natural frequencies of the fiber based composites and stainless steel. This vibration damping effect gives improved "feel" to bicycle frames and components when compared to the vibrations generated by single material metal tubes.

Having MS2 stainless steel in conjunction with carbon, combines the best attributes of advanced composites with those of stainless steel. We start with MS2 stainless steel tubing and then design and engineer a precise pattern to be laser machined to remove the optimal amount of material from the stainless steel tube.

The resulting lightweight metal shell is then fused (using patented technology) with an advanced composite inner structure, which is molded during a secondary process using elevated temperatures and pressure.

The past few months I build up my new CX rig for this year using your MS2 tube set. Some feedback for you all:

1st impression, super awesome. the stuff is easy to braze just like regular steel (I built it lugged).

With a belt sander and coolant, the stuff is really easy to miter and work with. I did however have trouble using my lathe to miter the tubing and quickly abandoned that method for the belt sanding.

LIGHT! this stuff is super light, to be honest I have heard from others that they would prefer to work with the Columbus XCR chainstays and seatstays as they are lighter, but I see no need as this seems to ride just fine and isn't super heavy.

Rode the bike on the road for a day to see if I liked the feel and it felt compliant and comfortable. The bike feels great for long days and I know I will be building my next road frame out of your OS stuff.

Offroad the bike feels great too! I raced it a few times this season and it feels much better than the Deda/columbus CX frame I built last year.
