Eppendorf North America is a world-renown manufacturer of the highest quality laboratory instruments and consumables for the life sciences. In 2009 Eppendorf chose to relocate its corporate headquarters to 102 Motor Parkway, one of two twin office buildings developed constructed and managed by TRITEC. Eppendorf suite was to be located on an unoccupied floor of the office building and TRITEC had a very tight timeframe to move them into their new suite. The finished product was 10,000 square foot which contained new offices, lab space and training facilities.
Construction products used to complete the space included architectural metal partition systems, maple and cherry veneered doors, custom wood wall panels with stainless steel reveals, stainless steel wall base and granite flooring.
The lab space contains state of the art equipment and allows them to train customers to use equipment for Liquid Handling, Lab Automation, Molecular Biology, Microinjection, ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection), Microarrays PCR, and Real-time PCR (qPCR).
Executive offices have fabric wallcovering, wool carpeting with borders, built in cherry wood millwork, granite bar areas and wall hung plasma screens.

How awesome is this? I requested a stapler and, half-serious, asked for a red one. My boss told me if I could find one, we could order it. And wow, here it is.
Isn't she beautiful? It's okay to be jealous. If you work at the library, you can make an appointment to come by and see it. If I'm feeling generous, I might just let you staple something to feel that satisfying "k-chunk" as this heavy duty tool does it's work.

The building is a former industrial building which was core renovated some 5 years ago. We moved here 2 month ago, so not everything is quite finished. But you get an idea ;-)
It is nearby our former location, which was in the media harbour with the famous buildings of Frank O'Gehry. Although the view from the old office was quite nice, the new one offers much more space and a loft style interior.

Recently, our Camera Club had a practical evening at Foxcombe Hall - the headquarters of the Open University. It was an interesting place, but unfortunately the weather wasn't very good, the light being particularly bad for June. Consequently, I (and I'm sure many others) didn't get too many decent shots.
I thought this shot would fulfil category No.103 - In The Workplace, in 111 in 2011.

Found this ancient stapler while cleaning out my office from my first 'career' job back in 1997 for GTE Government Systems now General Dynamics.
