It's really more my boss' office, I just use it occasionally when I go in to work.
It's so small, we can't both use our wireless mice because they interrupt each other! It makes getting work done that much harder!
Our meeting room has seating for 8 people in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. It also has a privacy screen, available video conferencing, catering and administrative assistance.

Sharon was threatening to out me and my messy desk (or rather computer platform), so I thought I'd take pre-emptive action.

Here I am ready to get working on my computer in my office space. Note the two diet mtn dews. I had started one in the morning, and the bottle is from my lunch....I do clean up my desk at the end of the day (usually).
Spent all of yesterday/last night cleaning and reorganizing my home office. This is what it looked like 2 years ago.Thought I'd take new pics with natural light and a better camera ;)

I was on call all weekend, and was constantly in and out of the hospital. As a result, there was no way I was going into the "office" to take photos for today's FGR pick, Office Space. Instead, I went to where I would like to work, and wore the distinctive garb of my profession.
While I was taking 30 second dash non-pose posing shots with my camera on a tripod, a sheriff's cruiser slowed on the lonely country road. The deputy seated inside called me over. "We got several calls about a bright flash in the sky out here, did you see anything?" he asked me.
I started to say no, but I recognized the deputy as a friend. Because of my mask, he did not recognize me. "Yeah," I replied. "There was a biright flash in the sky, first white, then pink. About a minute later, a substance similar to tinsel began drifting down. Then it vaporized about three feet off the ground."
The deputy was transfixed, studying me and my tripod closely. "But you can't tell anybody," I continued. "This area is contaminated. We are at Decon 5." The deputy rolled up his window, I removed my mask. After my cursing, we both got a good laugh.

- the space is about 5300 square feet in total
- the entrance is off the page, to the right
- on the right where it says "recp", that is the reception area
- there are 10 small offices along the east (up) wall, each for 1 to 2 people - each has interior and exterior windows
- there are two big rooms in the back (left), one is about 20x20 and the other is about 13x30
- there are two open areas, one towards the front, about 13x13 and one towards the back, about 25x40 (with a divot)
- there are five medium offices along the west (bottom) wall, each for 1 to 3 people... they're slightly smaller than Betsy's current office
- there is a kitchenette with a sink, plenty of counter space, and room for a refrigerator
- there is one interior (no windows) room, about 13x13
- the views out the windows are nothing to write home about but natural light is natural light
- one of the small offices in the "server room", with it's own temperature controls and all the wiring ending up there
- I think there are four temperature control zones
- small offices
- medium offices
- back conference rooms
- middle of the building
- there are bathrooms outside our space; the men's room was in good shape and had a single stall and urinal
- the space is on the third floor and takes up roughly 2/3 of the floor; the remainder of the floor is empty
- parking looks ample and is lighted; there is building security until 9 or 10 PM
- the entrance to the building is secured ("fob") in addition to a door to this space; there is currently only one other tenant in the building
I was passing around my camera to a few people in the office, testing the shutter and ended up with this shot of our new work environment. It's a bit of a change from my office but bright and open and has just about the same sunny view of CBOE. The only drawback is the impactof the open environment on my level of focus.

It is nearby our former location, which was in the media harbour with the famous buildings of Frank O'Gehry. Although the view from the old office was quite nice, the new one offers much more space and a loft style interior.
