I used to know what this building was, but I am no longer sure.
It may have been the offices of Wood's Tobacco Company.
This is a bit of a rubbish shot but it was a watershed moment for me. I saw this straight away as a composition. By that I mean, I could see how it would look croppped and 'framed' properly before I picked up my camera phone.
The shot itself is badly done, but it was the first time I've seen a composition without putting my eye to the lens. I'm normally pretty rubbish at subject composition.
When I have a proper camera on me with a slightly more flexible lens, I'll re-take this shot as I saw it in my mind's eye.
My first offices in London after coming back from Australia and joining SITPRO. They were above the Egyptian bank on the right.
Built in 1877. Now up for sale.
Probably to be turned into flats. These buildings have Grade IIa listings.

Disused dyeworks, West Yorkshire. The land has been derelict for seven years and is now under surveilance due to metal theft.
The 17-story CAPTRUST Tower is the first mixed-use office tower at North Hills and will be the tallest building on the I-440 Beltline when it opens in fall 2009. In addition to 275,000 square feet of Class A office space, the first floor will feature 28,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, including an upscale restaurant. Just outside the building's doors, the entire North Hills development offers everything a person could need or want within walking distance.
2 huts built by local volunteers to be offices at the Ayaktiit Elementary School, Nyamlel, South Sudan. One hut is used by the school principal and one for the teachers. Made using traditional techniques and materials, sun dried adobe bricks for the walls and a stick framework coved by grass for the roof. A little donation would provide cement for plaster and some paint which would help them last a little longer and look better. Photos by Athuai Athuai Warweng 6 June 2016.
