The Manufacturing Academy is a 10-week pre-employment program conducted by the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) in partnership with WorkForce Central and local manufacturing employers. This program provides students with industry related knowledge, skills and certifications necessary to fill entry level jobs in advanced manufacturing and/or aerospace industries. Skills include but are not limited to manufacturing basics, blueprint reading, welding and composites, with certification in forklift, flagger, OSHA and lean processes. Upon graduation these students have he skills, competencies and certifications necessary to be successful in the aerospace and manufacturing trades.
My August 2007 visit to the Straits and the Northway included a little wander down into Gornal Wood. Here I grabbed a quick photo of the local post office, situated on Louise Street next to the Bonbons sweetshop.
Over the next seven weeks, 30 post-matric Mamelodi students will be learning how to code through a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)!
Through the MOOC Camp learners will also be taught how to facilitate a MOOC so that they may run these as part of their community service.
The participants will receive certificates at the end of the training.

An office development on Regent Street in Great Yarmouth. It was built in 1908 and designed by Ralph Scott Cockerilll for the Williment Family to house their financial services offices.The front facade is Grade II listed.
