In the remote areas of Nepal, electricity infrastructures are highly vulnerable to impacts of climate change. With support from Japan, UNDP Nepal and partners have restored 14 micro hydro plants previously destroyed by flash floods, lighting up the lives of 70,000 off-grid residents. In addition to bringing steady supply of electricity to the community, the micro hydro plants will help cut carbon emissions by 45,000 tonnes in the next 15 years.

In May 2014, we decided to leave the 9 to 5 and get off the grid. We found a school bus and are transforming it into a skoolie

4 solar panels @ 150 watts each for 600 watts total output. 19.5 volt no load output each panel to the charge controller. System wired for 12 volts to the controller
