The message did little good and the goods were ransacked.

Kelly and Audrey Taylor-Faye started building a 7,000 sq. foot retreat our of straw bales and it was blown down by a sustained wind storm. This is the second version project, a little smaller in size and made out of clay and straw, like a cob with straw filler, a method they found in Germany. this is the kitchen area. cork floor tiles that i just loved. the cabinets were made by her nephew out of hackberry, a tree that grows locally in the swamps. the countertops are hackberry and honey locust. i love the glass blocks in the wall. those provide a little extra light into the utility room on the other side.
