Craik developed the Eco-Centre as part of its plan to attract folks to come live in this rural community and build a home in the Eco-Village. If population growth was the key goal the town of Craik has grown by 11 per cent and the rural municipality by five per cent since the Eco-Village concept was developed. This is the second version project, a little smaller in size and made out of clay and straw, like a cob with straw filler, a method they found in Germany. this is the kitchen area. cork floor tiles that i just loved. the cabinets were made by her nephew out of hackberry, a tree that grows locally in the swamps. the countertops are hackberry and honey locust. i love the glass blocks in the wall. those provide a little extra light into the utility room on the other side.
