How intensive crop production makes possible up to 4 times the production of conventional (organic) practices, including 12 month cycle of crops. "Overlapping intercropping" is discussed in more detail later.

It was locked. All we could was poke our fingers through the mesh. As the week wore on, we considered unscrewing it.

the home is built on an east-west axis to take advantage of passive solar on the south. this also keeps things nice and bright, so you don't have to turn your lights on as much, conserving energy.
