After an offer of a cab ride while they loaded the last half of the train, they blasted off from the loadout. I recall they said they very rarely saw railfans at the time. Seems I chased to the Cow Springs curve and opted to swing by Monument Valley that afternoon and end up in Helper UT that night!

In an earlier post I made mention of how amazed I am that these creators/artists keep managing to outdo them selves.
Six months ago at the last NEO JAPAN and as I posted here, I was raving about the quality of gifts offered each NEO JAPAN event by GABRIEL. I also mentioned that not one of the NEO JAPAN gifts would I have hesitated from purchasing and that October's off shoulder hoodie had been my favorite gift from Gabriel yet.
Well TAKUYA JIN has outdone himself AGAIN!!!
My first visit to the event, I had a problem with a lot of things not rezzing for me. I got to the GABRIEL booth and well, first of all I was blown away by a certain GACHA item and I just stood their in awe admiring it. After an eternity of that haha, I looked over and saw this awesome off shoulder jacket. I thought it was kick ass, said to myself "I am definitely BUYING that, lemme see how much it is." Well when I clicked to do so, it said ZERO linden, I thought I clicked on the demo icon, you see the sign beneath loudly marking it as a GIFT had not rezzed!! LMAO. Yes this jacket in the image is the gift, comes in both male and female versions and it's dope. I LOVE this jacket even more than the off shoulder hoodie. Really an ace piece.
There's only one shocker connected to this gift, I'll give everyone a clue, I am shocked. XD Shocked that for as much as I LOVE this jacket...that I came back the next day after getting it and I left that day with something from GABRIEL that I LOVE ten times more than this jacket!!!!

Officially offered for sale on February 10, 1955, the first Chrysler 300 was athletic looking with 300 gross horsepower aboard, it was among the quickest cars of its time. It was able to achieve 60 mph in just 9.8 seconds, according to a test in Mechanix Illustrated by “Uncle Tom” McCahill. Uncle Tom also spurred the car up to a full 130 MPH. Tom McCahill and others in the contemporary automotive press used the term Beautiful Brutes” to describe Chrysler 300 series cars.
Besides being the most powerful production car of its time, the first Chrysler 300 was also among the best handling, thanks to a heavy-duty suspension. It can very well be considered an ancestor of the later muscle cars, though much more expensive, luxurious and exclusive.
The most prominent display of the first 300’s attributes did not come in any showroom, but on racetracks around the Southeast. Back in 1955, NASCAR stock cars were, in fact, stock production vehicles. Except for some crude safety equipment and numbers on the doors, they were almost indistinguishable from the cars the public could buy. With absolutely no financial support from Chrysler, Mercury Outboard founder Carl Kieckhaefer campaigned a fleet of white 300s during the 1955 NASCAR and AAA seasons with drivers like the Flock brothers (Tim, Fonty and Bob), Norm Nelson, Buck Baker, Speedy Thompson and Frank Mundy to name a few.
The Kieckhaefer 300s were spectacularly dominant and overwhelmed the factory-backed Chevrolets and Fords. Tim Flock took the driver’s championship while winning 18 races. He finished in the top five an astounding 32 times. His brother, Fonty, took another three victories, while Chrysler campaigner Lee Petty took home three trophies. Suddenly, the 300 had a glorious racing heritage in addition to its advertised Hundred Million Dollar Look.
Considering the short model year for that first 300, 1,725 were sold at an expensive $4,109 base price.
This was the car to start the legacy. Virgil Exner, then Chrysler's design chief, called his new styling direction "The Forward Look". The 1955 300 had a 2 door coupe body and clean, simple Chrysler Windsor side and rear quarter trim. Up front were two large Imperial “egg crate” grilles. This first of the letter series cars did not actually bear a letter. Chrysler’s original manuals named it the C-300, which was an appropriate name for the car. The “C-” designation was applied to all Chrysler models, and the 300 stood for the engine horsepower.
It was THE first modern American production car to achieve this 300hp output. Power came from an updated source already available; the fabled “Hemi” 331 cubic inch hemispherical head engine, modified with a “full race” cam, solid lifters, larger dual exhaust, and topped off with 2 4-barrel carburetors. The suspension was made firmer, allowing it to handle far better than most cars. It was given a special performance PowerFlite 2-speed automatic transmission, while the inside remained pure luxury.
Notably, it was fast. The battle lines would be drawn when it ran 127.58 MPH in the flying mile on the sands at Daytona Speed Weeks, and averaged 92 mph in the Daytona Grand National stock car race. This car dominated the stock car circuit, earning the NASCAR and AAA championships its first year out.
The car was available in three standard exterior colors: Black, Tango Red and Platinum, combined with a luxurious tan leather interior.

The summer time offers more light to chase the Manchester Turn out of Cedar Rapids, on duty 17:00 during the week. While traffic has really hit the dumps with the virus stuff going on, the Cedar Rapids corridor has stayed steady for the most part. Even enough traffic this week for a 2nd motor to find it's way to CR. With that being the case we chased the Friday night job out of town with a decent set of CN power. Here the job tops the grade near MP 6, a few miles north of Ryan as the shadows get long on their northbound trip. At Manchester 567 will trade trains with 565 who is working west out of Dubuque.

Piʻilanihale Heiau, a National Historic Landmark in the Kahanu Garden near Hana, which is the largest known ancient temple in the Hawaiian Islands.
Construction of the main terrace dates back to the 14th century. Wings were later added and rededicated during the 16th century, possibly after high chief Piʻilani from western Maui conquered the fertile, well-watered, and heavily populated Hāna region, thereby unifying the whole island.

Snapping around with the mobile. Sweden really offer a great variation of marvelous situations and scapes. I don't have time for dsrl shooting and can´t wait for long exposures for scene like this one but it will be in the future. Last days in Sweden after having done lot of things before the move the 15th of June. You all understand that, at the moment, I only have time for this kind of photos and to say hi. The area around Fort Madison offers alot of neat things to shoot from the ground and air. The Chillicothe Sub takes off from the BNSF depot and runs along the Mississippi River for a few miles before crossing it into Illinois. In those few miles the railroad passes the ATSF old depot and the city park full of interesting items. Here a Northtown to Kansas City freight slowly makes its way off the river bridge and west towards KC. Crews on Galesburg type trains will run thru Fort Madison to KC and not change crews, like this NTWKCK will do.

Stony Batter on Waiheke Island offers a good view to the outer limits of the Hauraki Gulf, a semi enclosed part of the Pacific that is Auckland's maritime playground. It is largely protected from the Pacific by Great Barrier Island and Little Barrier Island to the north, and by the Coromandel Peninsula to the east. Cape Rodney on the left and the Coromandel Peninsula on the right are part of the mainland. A line connecting them with Little Barrier Island and Great Barrier Island (left and right centre) forms the limit between the Hauraki Gulf and the Pacific Ocean beyond. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauraki_Gulf_/_Tīkapa_Moana#/map/0 The environmental integrity of the gulf has suffered through the introduction of industrialised fishing peaking in the 1970s. This severe overfishing, which unbalanced the marine environment by the removal of a main predator in the food chain, led to a widespread disappearance of kelp beds and their substitution by kina barrens. Kinas are sea urchins which flourish in the absence of the New Zealand snapper and lobsters, their main predators. Dredging of the mussel beds of the Firth of Thames reached a peak in 1961 shortly before collapse of the industry. Particularly damaging are the results of nitrogen carried into the gulf from surrounding agricultural land, with almost 90% coming from the dairy-farming runoff into the Firth of Thames. In 2000 New Zealand established the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park. So far the park has failed to prevent overfishing and reverse the ecosystem collapse. Much more needs to be done to clean up the environmental degradation created by commercial interests in the past and present.
When Galileo offered his opposers the chance to look into the telescope, many of them refused. I really cannot grasp how people can maintain such stances today but, well, this happens all the day, so this could be a limitation of my own little mind. However nobody can deny that that rough telescope - together with Van Leeuwenhoek's primitive microscope - was the beginning of a revolution in our way to look at the world and understand it. The scope of our (admittedly augmented) senses spans now from elementary particles to the remotest regions of space and time, including along the way that awesome marvels that we call cells.
That said, this humble shot portraits a coin operated telescope (a rather pompous name, but I am aware that many people love them, and there is even a group in Flickr dedicated to them) in Montisola, Lake Iseo, Italy*. I must admit that I have not looked into it (just like Galileo's foes...), but I loved the strikingly fresh view on the world offered by its external metal shell - especially how it creates two images of myself: one could go at work as usual, and the other could leisurely wander capturing photos all the time ;-)
