The scene just coming off the beach at Dadonghai Bay. Hotels, restaurants, condos and palm trees, I hated to leave. We were headed back to the Hawaii hotel which was the building in the distance with the dome on top.

I love the look of these guys... the close-up/macro view makes them look so soft and cuddly .... you (almost) forget about the stinging part!
The first train in gathers the worn, and now severed track sections, and then stands in Bangor station for about 36 hours before the line is clear of the other engineers trains.
The later Bangor steam shed, 6H ,is visible in the background.

Members assigned to the 81st Civil Affairs Battalion spent time with their families and friends as bags were loaded, IDs swiped and hugs issued prior to the start of a scheduled 9 month deployment Dec. 15. Just 14 months in existence, the 81st CA Bn would be the first within civil affairs to deploy as a complete battalion. (Photo by Army Staff Sgt. Well over 30 degrees this evening in Glendale, so the open air restaurants had their water misters spraying and there were plenty of kids enjoying the fountains. Heading off to Colorado tomorrow for the altitude portion of the trip.
Tabby had to find a guy to take off his shirt and show his muscles. I heard her say what about that guy? The girls had moved on. I grabbed the guy and asked him if he would. He said yes.

Went for a quad ride and mostly it was in the rain. Parts were a little bit scary just because the trail was slick, and we have good tires on the quad. Just trying to dry off and keep warm after the ride.

Horned Puffins taking off to sea on what is officially known as "Duck Island", just off the coast of Chisik Island in the Alaska Peninsula... (Locals call it Puffin Island, and rightfully so... I didn't see one duck the entire time I was there)
I was fortunate enough to take a boat here along with other photographers at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge. Again, the light was poor, but it was a great opportunity to photograph one of my favorite animals.
This London Central bus appears slightly off route... in fact it is operating a Boston Manor-Ealing Broadway rail replacement (with incorrectly set blinds) and is seen leaving Boston Manor Station in 2011.
Off- roader is the new car produced by Andy Motors. If you don't know Andy Motors (AM), it's my fictional car company that only produces racing cars for different types of races: Le Mans, off-road races, trial...
AM Off-roader is a car made in buggy style made for off-road races. This car is lightweight and powerfull, and includes a extra tire in the backside in case of one of the tires has a hole.

January 29th 2009 -- Ostrander Bowl, Yosemite National Park, California, USA -- Skiers at the top of the Ostrander Bowl regearing and pulling of skins for the ride back down. I caught up to these 4 at the top of the bowl after a pause in the middle to shoot another group of skiers headed down. There was something tableau like about the the way they were all lined up beneath the headwall as the sunbeams tracked across the snow behind them. Regearing at the top, putting on the gortex, peeling the skins off, grabbing a quick bite of food and a sip of water is the hidden moment of meditation that turns the corner between the effort of climbing the mountain and the grace of skiing down it.
