January 29th 2009 -- Ostrander Bowl, Yosemite National Park, California, USA -- Skiers at the top of the Ostrander Bowl regearing and pulling of skins for the ride back down. I caught up to these 4 at the top of the bowl after a pause in the middle to shoot another group of skiers headed down. There was something tableau like about the the way they were all lined up beneath the headwall as the sunbeams tracked across the snow behind them. Regearing at the top, putting on the gortex, peeling the skins off, grabbing a quick bite of food and a sip of water is the hidden moment of meditation that turns the corner between the effort of climbing the mountain and the grace of skiing down it. Because I only had one full day in New York I took back to back Hop On Hop Off Buses. Some of the images are not very good as the bus would go over bumps etc,.I have kept them in as memorises of the day. I only got off the bus once so most of the photos were taken as we were travelling along. Sadly I just didn't have time to have a good walk around.
I woke to a lovely sunny day and not too cold with around 16c. As the day went on it clouded over a bit and cooled down. November 7, 2018 USA.
I was lucky enough to win and take home the One-off SDgr Lorina Girl from the Volks 2015 Dolpa Tea Party in LA! The whole event was so much fun but this was the icing on the cake! I'm smitten. This is only a quick photo but I already love her in every single wig I've tried on her!
ODC. Discovery. I found this little area of public land off some gravel roads. When I got out of the car and walked down to the river - an eagle flew off. I am excited to come back as it gets colder to try to photograph the eagles.
Branded for the X17 but working the 66 to Leamington (it's home depot) was Stagecoach Midlands 35182 KX56KGO, a standard Dart seen near Banbury bus station in October 2013
Still feeling a bit off. Fever has passed but I'm still sneezing and feeling allround achey. I like to wear this sweater because it warm an comfy.

Sediments on the banks of the Neckar river, shrinked by drying off. The polygonal plates framed by fissures are some decimeters sized.

Porträttet på Iggy Pop från Köpenhamn 1977 som ger besökarna det långa fingret är verkligen färgstarkt och fyllt med kraft och karisma, även om bilden är i svartvitt. Med det medelålders paret blir det en bra och lite rolig bild.

The strong portrait at Iggy Pop in Kopenhagen 1977 is filled with power and when he gives the finger to the visitors wieving the photo. It is colorful in many ways....even though the photo is black and white.

I'm off to just about my favourite place - Greece - so won't be around for a week or so. We've visited many parts of Greece but this time we're going to the little island of Paxos, for the first time.
This isn't a new picture but one taken in Kefalonia a couple of years ago. It won me 2nd place in the holiday company's photo competition. The prize was a Nikon D40 which I sold to part fund my Panasonic G1, earlier this year.
Weil Holgi ja so viel nachgefragt hat, wie ich das Curves Bild gemacht habe, habe ich hier mal ein Making Off erstellt. Also: Das war mein Aufbau: Haupt Lichtquelle ist eine kleine, handygroße LED Fläche von Rollei. Die ist mit einem billigen Amazon Klammerarm an meinen superstabilen, 20 Jahre altem Walimex Stativ, aus gefühltem Vollalu, an die Mittelsäule festgeklammert und hängt waagerecht über der Kamera. In den Hintergrund hab ich noch so einen runden Faltrefkektor mit schwarzer Seite gehangen und das Objekt der Begierde auf einem leeren Umzugskartons gelegt. Darunter noch die schwarze Hülle des Faltreflektors, um Reflexionen von unten gegen die Kamera zu vermeiden. Der Raum war trotzdem recht dunkel, um das Licht der kleinen LED besser zu kontrollieren. Fotografiert habe ich dann mit meiner digitalen Kamera mit einem längeren Makro, damit ich mit dem Ausschnitt und dem Hintergrund zurecht komme. Belichtung habe ich händisch mit live Histrogramm ausgesucht, weil das Licht ja konstant war.
Das wichtigste an dem Aufbau war es, die Position. Im Licht zur Kamera einzustellen. Ich glaub, das Licht musste hinter die Kamera leuchten und die Kanten nur noch streifen, damit genau das richtige im Bild angeleuchtet war.

Finally off crutches and starting to walk again, we took a short family road trip so I could limp a few feet from my car and shoot images of the wildflower bloom. I hope to be back in the water in a few more weeks! Here, California poppies, Eschscholzia californica, blooming in the spring sunshine near Figueroa Mountain in Santa Barbara County, California, USA.
