Fields of Gold
Sting
You'll remember me when the west wind moves upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky as we walk in fields of gold
So she took her love for to gaze awhile upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down among the fields of gold
Will you stay with me, will you be my love among the fields of barley?
We'll forget the sun in his jealous sky as we lie in fields of gold
See the west wind move like a lover so upon the fields of barley.
Feel her body rise when you kiss her mouth among the fields of gold
I never made promises lightly and there have been some that I've broken
But I swear in the days still left we'll walk in fields of gold
We'll walk in fields of gold
Many years have passed since those summer days among the fields of barley
See the children run as the sun goes down among the fields of gold
You'll remember me when the west wind moves upon the fields of barley
You can tell the sun in his jealous sky when we walked in fields of gold
When we walked in fields of gold, when we walked in fields of gold

Church of the Ascension in Kolomenskoye. Moscow (1528-1532). The church is made of brick with white stone with numerous decorative elements in the form-centric church tower, and its height is 62 meters.
A beaut of a butte, east of Lake Powell, on the far side of Antelope Island, which lies low in the foreground, shadowed just before sunset. Note the layering on the butte and the cliffs behind, indicating sandstones and shales laid down by sedimentary processes—completely different from the massive intrusive granite blocks in Monument Valley, which are remnants of volcanic activity.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments and favs. All are greatly appreciated!
I am inspired by many things. Musically by the genius of Miles Davis, hence my title which refers to, IMHO, one of the best jazz albums of all time. Likewise I come to Flickr for photographic inspiration. My views on photography and indeed the many genres of photography that I attempt have been heavily influenced by so many talented people here on Flickr. One of them is Joseph Pearson Images, a London architectural photographer who has photographed so many of the same buildings and structures around London that I have but both of us do it in our own way. Its always interesting for me to see his take on a building that I am very familiar with myself and see what his 'eye' picked out. Usually it's something I've missed and so my education continues!
Yesterday Joseph posted a picture of one of my favourite underground stations here in London, Southwark station, and it got me looking back at some of the pictures I've taken over the years in this most photogenic of stations. I was surprised to see that I'd never posted this escalator shot so thought I'd do so now. Taken pre-covid, way back in 2019.

"...one of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.”
I'm wishing I was out 'connecting' with nature but instead I'm connected to a computer and desk. BUT -- good news! It is Friday and I'm looking forward to some outdoor time tomorrow. Rain and 5 degrees in the forecast but those quiet early mornings are worth getting bundled up for!
Happy weekend all!!
We love to dress up. We love attention. We like to come into the scene with a bang. We love to party! We are different... just for this Halloween. xD

This shot was taken when I was out strolling around in the nearby nature reserve of "Norra Järvafältet". I was looking for a single tree located in a grassy field so I could take a "frosty, foggy" shot later this year. I didn´t found exactly what I was looking for but I found this tree and decided I should try to find some good compositions. The tree's branches form a bit of a "mushroom hat" and are fairly symmetric. I will go back in the autumn and see how the scene changes and what colors that bring. This image is processed to be on the warm side, with saturated colors and "golden" glow to it.
This shot was taken with my Nikon D7200 and Sigma 24-105mm f4.0 art lens.

The darkness of an ancient entity, primordal fear from the shadows, presence of something right behind you. Turn around, all you see is waving branches. You are alone. Alone in your crazy reality. Something wants to get inside. Than you realize, the something is a guy with a camera, who wants to get into your ancient shadows. Not even primordal fears of yours cannot stop him!

The Temple of Aphaia (Greek: Ναός Αφαίας) or Afea is located within a sanctuary complex dedicated to the goddess Aphaia on the Greek island of Aigina, which lies in the Saronic Gulf. Formerly known as the Temple of Jupiter Panhellenius, the great Doric temple is now recognized as dedicated to the mother-goddess Aphaia. It was a favorite of the neoclassical and romantic artists such as J. M. W. Turner. It stands on a c. 160 m peak on the eastern side of the island approximately 13 km east by road from the main port.

The Savannah sparrow is one of the most common songbirds in all of North America and has a range that stretches out across most of the continent in various seasons. It breeds across most of Canada and Alaska as well as virtually all the northern states. It can be found primarily in open grasslands as well as in meadows, pastures, prairies, salt marshes, and tundra. In autumn, most Savannah sparrows migrate to the southern states as well as into Mexico and other parts of Central America.
During breeding season the Savannah sparrow feeds primarily on insects including beetles, flies, grasshopper, spiders, and millipedes. They forage by walking through grassy areas on the ground or among shrubs and short trees. They sometimes fly to catch insects midair, and those that live on the coast sometimes eat small crustaceans on beaches. The Savannah sparrow also eats a variety of seeds and berries.
I found this and ten thousand other Savannah Sparrows (Okay maybe not that many) along Joe Overstreet Road. Osceola County, Florida.
Flower of Hyacinth .
Hyacinth in the language of flowers symbolizes fun, but it also has other meanings depending on the color. Purple hyacinth indicates consistency and sincerity.

On the higher mountains the first snow has fallen, but here around this meander of river the last colors of autumn are resisting. I think it deserved a photo.
Sulle montagne più alte è caduta la prima neve, ma intorno a questo meandro del fiume resistono le ultime cromie autunnali; credo meritassero una foto.

Hallgrímskirkja is a Lutheran (Church of Iceland) parish church in Reykjavík, Iceland. At 74.5 metres (244 ft) high, it is the largest church in Iceland and among the tallest structures in the country. The church is named after the Icelandic poet and clergyman Hallgrímur Pétursson (1614–1674), author of the Passion Hymns.
Situated on a hilltop near the centre of Reykjavík, the church is one of the city's best-known landmarks. State Architect Guðjón Samúelsson's design of the church was commissioned in 1937. He is said to have designed it to resemble the trap rocks, mountains and glaciers of Iceland's landscape. It took 41 years to build the church: construction started in 1945 and ended in 1986, but the landmark tower was completed long before the whole church was finished. (Wikipedia)
Tonight, a little before sunset, the evening mist had already begun to appear, when a terrible noise was heard. A large flock of crows was looking for a place to spend the night and eat something early tomorrow. They chose an excellent place because in my neighborhood there are many walnuts still left on the tree.
A couple of chairs and a bottle of Ouzo on the small round table under an old arched terrace, are waiting for the casual passerby, searching for a relaxing corner. Kimolos is an island with rich history records. According to tradition, it is named after Kimolos, the very first resident of the island. Echinousa is also a recorded name of the island during the ancient times, probably because of the snake Echidna (viper), being common even today on the island. Since the ancient era, it has been a battlefield between Ancient Athens, the ruler of the island, and Sparta, the ruler of Milos. Since those times, the rocky lands of the southern coast provided Kimolia Gi-Kimolian Earth, a valuable trade good, which made the island a major trade hub. Ottoman Empire ruled the island until 1829, when the newborn Greek state annexed it along with the rest of Cyclades.
