Maj. Gen. James Adkins presented the awards earned during OCS to the officer candidates. The awards included - Physical Fitness, Academic Excellence, Peer Award, Honor Graduate and Distinguished Honor Graduate.

The Palmetto Military Academy conducted a ceremony to recognize the PMA Hall of Fame inductees and commission PMA Class 67 at McCrady Training Center in Eastover, South Carolina, Aug. 13, 2016.

 

Col. Jakie Davis, Jr., and Capt. John Thorne, Jr., were both inducted in the PMA Hall of Fame.

 

Nine officer candidates were promoted to second lieutenant with the completion of the Officer Candidate School - James Boudreau, Infantry, Phillip Davis, Infantry, David Elmore, Air Defense, Johnathan Hand, Aviation, Ransom Holland, Infantry, Ciera Nicholson, Signal, Lewis Simmons, Infantry, Christopher Tommie, Infantry, Christa Williams, Chemical.

Sgt. 1st Class James Woodey taught Army leadership.

 

Capt. Ravneet Puri and Sgt. 1st Class James Woodey provided their insight into the broad but important topic of Army leadership. The class covered the Be, Know, Do model of Army leadership and how it incorporates into student evaluations, non-commissioned officer evaluations, and commissioned officer evaluations. The examination covered a range of material from Phase I and II. Class 053 was successful with all 17 candidates passing with at least a 70% on the first attempt.

 

November drill will feature dual exams on supply and military justice.

 

Class 053 conducted their second OCS Phase II drill October 14-16 at Camp Fretterd Military Reservation. Class 053 combines candidates from Maryland and the District of Columbia, working to earn commissions as Second Lieutenants in the Army National Guard.
