365 2009 Day 159: I discovered another rather attractive glass vessel today. What drew me to explore it was firstly the condensation inside it.

I see now that it is now observing us ...

I nice deck built out into the middle of the swamp for watching the wildlife flit around.

The Playgroup children observed ‘Farm Day'. They were told about the different types of animals that live in a farm. Teachers explained about different sounds of animals. The feel of a real farm was created for their practical learning experience. They enjoyed the day with their friends and teachers. They also enjoyed playing with animal replicas.

anything & everything

This bird has my heart

Just watching the world and all who inhibit it

Let me be like you

Every Move you Make

Every Breath you take

I'll be watching you

After having observed the nest for a some time, my parents thought that this beautiful work of art made with some interweaved copper threads had been made by a big and very ingenious bird. The woodpecker was still often seen in the big pines around our neighbourhood and was indeed an ingenious bird. The chickadees and the sparrows were too small to have made it, and the crows were not enough sophisticated.

Discovering some silk threads still present in the structure, my parents recognized old telephone cables. When the phone company had set up the new lines (in the Thirties, Forties or Fifties?), the workmen had probably left some bits of cables everywhere in the streets. And some ingenious birds had used them to build a nest... That nest was indeed very old... :)

A possibly strong thunderstorm! Lightning/thunder was observed. Numerous t-storms, some severe/strong, were now firing up around the region due to a very unstable air mass aloft!!! This was viewed from Auntie Sharon's house in Stockton, CA, looking southward. We were here for Lola's b-day and of course for our Easter family get-together. (Easter Sunday late afternoon, March 31, 2013; 5:40 p.m.)

**A slow moving Pacific storm moved inland over the Easter weekend. This relatively mild system brought valley rain (mostly in the form of thunderstorms) before it exited early next week. Afternoon & evening thunderstorms occurred. Locally heavy amounts of rainfall occurred with the developed slow moving t-storms. As the center of the low pressure moved closer to the coast on Sunday, the atmosphere had become increasingly unstable. Brief heavy rain, hail, dangerous cloud to ground lightning and gusty winds were all possible with the thunderstorms that developed. The greatest threat for t-storms was over the southern half of the Sacramento Valley, Delta and northern San Joaquin Valley. On a good note, this same storm was destined to help bring welcome rain to the southern Plains Tuesday and Wednesday.**

Photographers should observe themselves as observers and in that way come to understand why they see the way they do.

February 13th marked International Condom Day, a holiday observed in conjunction with Valentine’s Day that promotes prevention of STDs, HIV, and unwanted pregnancies through free condom distribution and safer sex awareness events and activities.

With the success of last year's "Condoms Are Cool" theme, AHF was proud to launch "Wrap Your App!" in the United States—where AHF hosted events in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia—with events aimed specifically at youth, who account for 1 in 4 new HIV infections. The “Wrap Your App!” campaign—promoting safety and HIV, STD and pregnancy prevention—is a nod to tech savvy individuals built around a smartphone-themed graphic showing a menu of apps.

AHF also launched "Wrap Your Love" across the globe—our teams hosted over 160 events across the 35 countries we serve: distributing condoms, providing HIV testing, and hosting flash mobs.
