Three Republic of Korea Navy officers observed the Company C, 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade's hoist training Dec. 18 at the flight line on Camp Humphreys. The ROK officers have never participated in a hoist before and are planning on implementing it into their own training.

Observed on Lake Ontario at Newcastle Harbour.

After having observed the nest for a some time, my parents thought that this beautiful work of art made with some interweaved copper threads had been made by a big and very ingenious bird. The woodpecker was still often seen in the big pines around our neighbourhood and was indeed an ingenious bird. The chickadees and the sparrows were too small to have made it, and the crows were not enough sophisticated.

Discovering some silk threads still present in the structure, my parents recognized old telephone cables. When the phone company had set up the new lines (in the Thirties, Forties or Fifties?), the workmen had probably left some bits of cables everywhere in the streets. And some ingenious birds had used them to build a nest... That nest was indeed very old... :)

Photographers should observe themselves as observers and in that way come to understand why they see the way they do.

A very wild and windy day at Glencoe, with passing blizzards. Very good snow conditions though.

The Crow enjoying life in British Columbia Canada

Observe the black rock known as diorite. Ancient Egyptians used this extremely hard rock to carve granite structures (such as obelisks).

You have everything to take in and nothing to forget.

Tuesday, March 1st

Today was a pretty unusually usual day. I got up around 1, showered, walked up to the admin offices and activated my SCAD debit so I don't have to use quarters to do laundry anymore, bought some milk, came back to my dorm and had cereal. I hung out in my room till around 5, when Michelle and Alexis and I all resolved that we would go to Ihop to observe and partake in the national free pancake holiday. After that they let me make a quick target run and we were headed back. The rest of the evening was spent watching LOST in Jausten's room, or as Alexis has been calling it, "Auohn's" (yet another combination of John and Austen). Between episodes we all decided we'd eat at The Spot for dinner, so I brought my camera, I knew that would be just about my only opportunity for a picture of the day that day. This was during the walk up. In the foreground is my roommate, alex, and the background left-to-right is Josh, Alexis, and Austen. The pizza was good, the friendship time was even better, and I loved having fun times hanging out with Alexis and Michelle a lot today. It's been awhile since the three of us have just hung out, so yep. Wonderful. I hit the sack at around 3 AM, far too late for having a 6 AM class the next day, but such is life when you start your laundry at 12:30 AM :)

I like taking photos of people looking at art, and this one finally made me realize why: because it alters your perception of the artwork, creating a new piece of art from the original, my photograph, and your perception.

This deer herd is paying close attention to the penetrating calls made by sambar deer and langur monkeys who are just on the other side. Presence of a predator (mostly a tiger) in the area is guaranteed at this point. With their ears stretched out, the off-springs are learning how to pick up on every little nuance that follows now in order to stay alive.

Best seen large on black

Fairly sure that this bird would soon fly I felt very privileged to have it sitting, as light as a feather literally, on my hand

Wasilla, November 22 (insect) When we began to move the dining area around so that we could all sit at the table for dinner, I noticed a small insect that looked similiar to a previous posting. It was in the windowsill next to the table moving very slow. I've seem them during the summer and fall season. To see this critter right now seems a little unusual for this time of year.

Would like to know if this insect is native to Alaska and the timing of the event seems odd or late in the year. Maybe our house is a microbiome?
