Artists Observe Reflection
Having my mother hold my senior tassel during this photo was me trying to document my changes as a senior this year during all these crazy times and how it not only affects us seniors but also our parents and guardians, the ones that got us here. I think my choice of documentary style photography was very effective for this unit especially because what better way to observe something than to document it so you can look back at it later. I believe this project taught me a little bit more about observing and helped me understand the whole concept, I was also able to practice a lot of documentary shooting. I did run into a few challenges and I just didn't really like what I was going with so I changed up my project a little bit and I really loved the final results.
To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe.

That's right, a rare opportunity to become a worker bee in the giant cog that is Jet-pac Industries.
Please be warned, conditions are poor, pay insulting, work colleagues moronic and you will be woefully undervalued...bit like the day job then!

Observed an HY male Snowy Owl sitting a top a power pole in McHenry County, Illinois during early December, 2024. First Snowy Owl of the winter, did not see one during the winter of 2023-2024.
High above the ground, one squirrel receives some careful grooming from another - though they do seem slightly curious about the attention I'm giving them. =:)
(Many thanks to Rabitguy for his removal of a twig which proved a little distracting)
Looks like I was in the Midwest! A thunderstorm was observed right over the city this afternoon. Lightning & thunder was occurring within this cell. Gotta love it! Pic taken from San Jose, CA right around the Reid-Hillview Airport. What was causing this unsettled weather? A low pressure area was off the California coast. This low was sending bands of showers/t-storms across Central & Southern California. The low was moving slowly eastward & pass across Central/SoCal this day (Sunday), bringing in the stormy weather to parts of the Bay Area (especially for us here in the South Bay) as we get the top rain bands of the low. The shower activity was forecast to slow down come evening. We’ve been getting interesting weather this month, let alone t-storm activity within a week’s time (and also knowing that the Bay Area only averages 2 t-storms per year)! Anyway, drive safe & stay safe out there during this COVID-19 pandemic/outbreak. Only venture out if absolutely necessary... (Sunday, March 22, 2020)
*Brief weather forecast/update:
By the very next day, late Monday, another low pressure trough was to be approaching the coast. This system was to move slowly across NorCal late Tuesday & Wednesday with additional rain showers. The showers were to end by Wednesday night. Then by Thursday & early Friday, things look partly to mostly sunny with average temps & light winds. More rainy weather was in store for the next upcoming weekend…
