Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a German town in northern Bavaria known for its medieval architecture. Half-timbered houses line the cobblestone lanes of its old town. The town walls include many preserved gate houses and towers, plus a covered walkway on top. St. Jakob’s Church houses an intricate, late Gothic altarpiece by woodcarver Tilman Riemenschneider. Rothenburg ob der Tauber - beim Rosenpavillon unterm Marktplatz, hinten die Ratsherrentrinkstube; hier trafen sich einst die Ratsherren nach der Sitzung zum Umtrunk, nun bekommen hier Gäste aus aller Welt von den Mitarbeitern des Rothenburg Tourismus Service ihre Informationen.
Die Stadtuhr an der Front stammt aus dem Jahr 1683, die Sonnenuhr aus dem Jahr 1768.
Von 11-15h wird hier stündlich der Meistertrunk dargestellt. Altbürgermeister Nusch trank zur Rettung der Stadt Rothenburg vor Tilly im Jahre 1631, der die Stadt zerstören und die Ratsherren ermorden wollte, erfolgreich einen 3-Liter Krug Wein aus.
