A youth group in a variety of colourful kayaks listen to the instructor before setting out on a short paddle in the ocean outside of the calm harbour where they started. The day was perfect, no wind and warm sunshine. What a great adventure for these kids. Photo taken in Esquimalt BC Canada.
The clear waters of the great lakes are made from the havens, keep them clean and they will repay you later in life. I was repaid in this journey, but we are all indebt to this vast beauty.

Sea Kakaying Tour in the Nærøyfjord
08.06.2014 - Sea Kakaying Tour in the Nærøyfjord with Nordic Ventures
We had an AWESOME DAY thanks to Nordic Ventures and our great guide from New Zealand. We been guided through the Stalheimskleiva (the northern Europe's steepest road), after through the Nærøyfjord (listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and at the end we have been climbing a huge waterfall :) We had all kind of weather conditions: sun, strong wind, rain...and a lot of fun! In between the highlights let not forget the delicious lunch that we got on a lovely beach on the side of the fjord :)

Hobo Highway #2
While meeting my son Scott and his family for a birthday dinner in downtown Hickory, I noticed that the sunset was in the direction of the west bound rails heading in the direction of Morganton. I’ve wanted to make a photograph of a sunset looking down a long stretch of tracks for a while, so the next day I used The Photographer’s Ephemeris to help locate a spot, with a clear evening sky. Still a couple degrees off, but this is what I managed to get yesterday…

One year on, In memory of Adam
Well February has snuck up on me faster than you could imagine and so I thought it apt to mark the day with some heartfelt love for Adam. As most of you know Adam and I started a little Outrigger (not club) group many years ago which is continuosly changing and growing and there have been many a wonderful memory created for so many who have been involved with this group. There are too many to mention here; but come along next Saturday the 20th to share your stories with others.
One of the original Outriggers has been lovingly restored and will be officially named "Adam Bowden" we then plan to paddle both the 6 Man Outrigger plus "Jeffrey" our little sturdy 2 man on an honourary lap around Coochie, leaving the beach about 9am. Some of our special friends from the G.C Dragon Boat Club will be joining us with their own Outrigger Canoe on the paddle around the island. Once we return to Outriggers Beach approx 10:00 - 10:30am there will be another paddle out towards the Red Bouy for all who are keen (bring your own water craft - ie; Surfboards, SUPs, Kayaks, Canoes) to scatter some flowers and down a tequila shot (for anyone who wants to) followed by a minutes silence. If you dont want to paddle out, you can watch from the beach. Then we shall return to the beach for a sausage sizzle (Gold Coin donation per snag) a couple of bevvys (BYO) and lots of hugs and probably tears as well.
If you would like to join Joel, Reef and I on this special day to remember Adam, we would love to see you.
Much love Jodie

I'm enjoying the process and problems of painting far more than the stuff I have done digitally. It'll be interesting to see if I actually go back to doing things on computers. I certainly don't much feel inspired to at the moment.

Another peaceful scene from a late night walk back to the car.
Again, a post to contrast the delerium that surrounds me. Fireworks, screams, car horns, helicopters, chants and general insanity fill the air as the Kansas Jayhawks win the National Championship. Nine points down with 2 minutes left in regular, the hawks came back to send the game into overtime and then went on to win.
Congratulations to the team and cheers to Kansans and Jayhawks everywhere!!
