The observation deck atop the skyscraper, dubbed "Top of the Rock", reopened to the public on November 1, 2005, after undergoing a $75 million renovation. It had been closed since 1986 to accommodate the renovation of the Rainbow Room (although this has also recently closed due economic difficulties). The deck, which is built to resemble the deck of an ocean liner, offers sightseers a bird's eye view of the city, competing with the 86th floor observatory of the Empire State Building. It is often considered the best panoramic city view, if only because it offers a view of the aforementioned Empire State Building, which cannot be seen from its own observation deck. The timed entry system and larger observation deck also results in shorter waiting times compared to the Empire State.
The "Top of the Rock" had also been co-opted for NBC's Sunday Night Football during the 2006–07 season, with the top player/MVP in that night's game according to John Madden and Al Michaels receiving the honor of being that night's "Rock Star" in the form of a glass trophy display on the observation deck; this was a replacement for the Horse Trailer Award formerly awarded on ABC's Monday Night Football. The Horse Trailer honor was restored for the 2007–08 season.

The Giant Leopard Moth or Eyed Tiger Moth (Hypercompe scribonia) is a moth of the familyArctiidae. It is distributed throughout the Southern and Eastern United States from New England to Mexico. The obsolete name Ecpantheria scribonia is still occasionally encountered.
This species has a wingspan of 3 inches (nearly 8 cm). The wings of this moth are bright white with a pattern of neat black blotches, some solid and some hollow. The abdomen is dark blue with orange markings, the male has a narrow yellow line on the sides. Its legs have black and white bands. Adult moths are strictly nocturnal and do not generally fly before nightfall (Fullard & Napoleone 2001).

After sightseeing in the Lake George area, we returned to NYC for another night there. We stopped at Saratoga Springs for a brief look around, and had time to explore Schenectady before boarding the Amtrak for the journey back to the City. We still had a good amount of time in NYC to do some more exploring there, but that's for the next upload.
In this episode the Talkitects sit with one of the best tastemakers in the game. Mainly because he transformed himself into a chef. Hawaii Mike Salman is about as Hip-Hop as you can get. He has transformed himself from a journalist to a mass marketer to a cannabis advocate.
One of the Talkitects comes to the studio extra saucy but the crew manages to power thru the dysfunction. Can we get much higher? You tell us. Comment, rate and most importantly subscribe to the Talkitecture podcast
Finished with my first ARE exam this past week. Very glad it is in the rear view mirror. Needless to say, I have had a little breathing room over the last couple days and stopped off on the way to work to capture the city waking up. I was surprised with the depth of the skylight that I got in this shot, not to mention the freshly docked cruise ship!
Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.
