LADEE TO THE MOON! As seen from the Top of the Rock, Rockefeller Center some 200 miles north of the launch pad, the Orbital Sciences Minotaur V rocket sends NASA's LADEE spacecraft on its way to the moon from Wallops Island, VA! The Empire State Building is green and blue in honor of the US Open of tennis.
We had a low, dark, heavy cloud deck this morning as we are bracing for a big snow to start shortly, but on the horizon there was a sliver of clear sky turning burnt orange. I was able to rush up to a higher vantage point to catch the sun rising behind mid-town Manhattan.

The photo quality may not be the best but the experience was! Got up very early Sunday morning and flew over New York City in the dark. Just one day after a major snow storm went through the area. The views were amazing!

Here's a remaster of a photo from The Met in NYC. I was there alone one time and walking around. I remember it very well because that was when I went to the Impressionist section and saw a Renoir and started to cry. I'm sure everyone thought I was an absolute basket case, but that's okay. I guess they are used to that in New York.

Did a Little "Diggin' in The Crates" and felt the need to bring these particular shots up to date in B&W.
This building is just in front of Ground Zero. You can see in the reflection the construction of WTC-1, the largest tower to replace the twin World Trade Center towers that collapsed on September 11, 2001.
