So, we've dyed 2 dozen easter eggs, made a pan of brownies and a loaf of banana bread. Got the easter baskets ready to go. And I don't feel good. =[. It's been a busy morning.

Have you heard the saying, “You are what you eat?” Those words are full of truth. Proper nutrition is essential! What you put in your body will determine how you look and feel, and can either help or hurt you. Do you want to know what your body needs or how to make your self...

"My daughter, now sleeping, had been seriously ill", she says.

"I took her to a healer in the village but her condition worsened. My neighbours advised me to take her to Agoinitt Health Post where she was directly referred to the nutrition centre. There she received treatment and now, by the grace of God, she has recovered", she says.

"Today I am relieved because I feared she would not survive".

Rows and rows of strawberries... and this is only a small view of the this large field (this view represents maybe 1\10th of the entire field) and there are quite a few fields this size in this area that are dedicate to growing strawberries. I'll try to get out and take a picture in the next week or so just to show how quickly the plants load up with berries.

As we are experiencing another day in the 80's I am sending warm regards to those of you still in the grip of winter.. :{P

EDUCATION TIME...

When you go to the market to buy produce you are actually buying it at it's proper state of rotting that it is ready to eat...

When plants are cut from their root source they are no longer gaining nutrition and rippening, they are starting to rot. Thats where the company that I work for comes in... we take the produce from the fields and quickly cool them (using physics in a vacuum tube) down to 32 degrees (for berries) as it is proven that at that temperature the rotting process is greatly slowed down so that the fruit and vegetables can be shipped to places all over the world and still be fresh for quite a few days.

FURTHER EDUCATION:

As i have grown older I can see the direct parallel between this example and my human life... when I am cut off from love I start to rot. some of us learn to hide this process, but sooner or later you start to smell to those around you. To be healthy and connected to my root source I need love in my life. I need to have God's love in my life and I know that I have to work on keeping that at the forefront... and when that is in balance it's amazing how all of the other loves in my life seem to work so much better.

Just a hint to those of you who might be noticing a little smell... might be time to check the source of nutrition in your life... :)

Most of the time when I mention the word nutrition to patients, people usually think diet. Eating things that are healthy for you and avoiding the foods unhealthy. Although your diet is supposed to nourish your body with proper nutrition that’s not exactly what I am talking about....

Drivers easily pick up meals for their children at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Seamless Summer Option's (SSO) alternative to traditional congregant feeding; this affords safe distancing with curbside distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic in the neighborhoods supported by Harlandale Independent School District's (HISD) Armando Leal Jr. Middle School, in San Antonio, TX, on April 9, 2020.

SSO has less paperwork, making it easier for schools to feed children during the traditional summer vacation periods and, for year-round schools, long school vacation periods, and during unanticipated school closures (i.e.the current coronavirus emergency). For more information about Seamless Summer and Other Options for Schools, please go to fns.usda.gov/sfsp/seamless-summer-and-other-options-schools.

Here, a greeter welcomes drivers and ask how many children are being fed. The amount is called out to teammates who then place the bagged meals of hot lunches and cold breakfasts, on a table, then steps back. Drivers lower their windows and pick-up the meals from the table. This alternate workflow with a 6-person team of child nutrition staffers delivers more than 500 meals in 90 minutes. The school has received many thank-you messages from parents and students for providing this service. The staff are highly motivated, happy to see, wave to, and serve the children they have seen grow up.

Because this site is closed tomorrow, children are given two days' worth of breakfast and lunch meals.

The meals fulfill USDA standards and include USDA commodities of turkey sandwiches and apple sauce/strawberry cups. Because of the portable needs of the meals, a bag of multigrain chips replaced hummus for today's grains. The hot meal includes a corndog made from a USDA recipe. Because of the portable needs of the meals, a bag of multigrain chips replaced hummus for today's grains. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost, or free lunches to children each school day—the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946. For more information about NSLP, please go to fns.usda.gov/nslp/nslp-fact-sheet.

Children need good nutrition all year long. The Summer Food Service Program, National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, and the Seamless Summer Option make it possible for schools to provide nutritious meals after the regular school year ends.

While Rene and I were strolling down Miami Beach, we came across this cat which was running around an alley. When he noticed us, he fled under a car. When I noticed him, I noticed more then just a cat. I noticed a cry for help. This poor cat looked as fragile as a sheet of glass- ready to break at any moment from the slightest movement. I just stood there and I felt guilty, knowing that I do have a roof over my head and some nutrition, unlike this cat. Maybe this cat was a symbol or something, telling me to stop being so selfish and complaining about life- to just enjoy what I have when I have it. This cat is more then a cat, this is the dark knight

Recommended Daily Allowance guidelines tell us what level of a nutrient is considered to be sufficient to meet the requirements of healthy individuals. Their prominent position on food packaging means that they are now widely understood by consumers, however like many people I was unaware how successful I was at not exceeding these on a daily or weekly basis. This chart represents three weeks of my nutrition intake and shows the frequency and extent with which I exceed the recommended amount for a range of nutritional values. The yellow circle shows my recommended intake level, the red circle represents an intake twice the recommended amount. From this I can see that my salt intake is excellent, however saturated fat and sugar intake are areas that I need greatly to improve. This has already made an impact on my diet as I have substituted some high sugar drinks with water.
