BR English Electric Class 55 Deltic D9002 (55002) 'The King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry' stands on the turntable in the NRM.
Ex LNER A4 class No. 4468 "Mallard" - speed record holder for steam locomotives, sits inside the NRM.
The National Railway Museum is currently undergoing renovations, so large portions of the museum are closed or under construction. But the main attraction, the grand Great Hall is open to guests, and the view is as spectacular as ever. The massive Eurostar display with a replica cross-section of the Chunnel stands out in this corner of the museum.
Stockton and Darlington Railway 1852 designed 1001 class locomotive 1275 was delivered from Dubs in 1874 and went on to work right until the formation of the LNER. It was withdrawn from Malton shed in 1923.
She is not a locomotive that has ever had a high profile but is certainly distinct and a rare survivor from an age of real advancement in the world of steam engines. She is seen in her long term home at York NRM.
15.6.2017. LMS Stanier Jubilee (6P) Class 4-6-0 No 45699 'Galatea' is prepared for duty in the yard at the NRM.
Behind the loco and just out of sight were LNER Gresley Pacifics A4 4-6-2 No 60009 'Union of South Africa' and A3 4-6-2 No 60103 'Flying Scotsman'.

National Railway Museum HST 43238 seen at Frinkley lane near Marston with the 1D29 1903 London Kings Cross - Leeds 15/6/19.
The National Railway Museum liveried HST Power Car, 43238, is seen at the head of 1E11. This is the 0752 Aberdeen - London Kings Cross Virgin East Coast Trains service. It is seen passing Musselburgh at 1035 on the 22nd March 2016
Boris buses arrive at Northampton late in the evening. LTZ 384 leads with 251 and 258 following. Also 357 which is out of sight. Northampton depot...July 4 2018.
The National Railway Museum liveried HST Power Car, 43238, is seen at the head of 1S03. Caught at speed passing Ballencrieff, this HST is working the 0708 Leeds - Aberdeen LNER service on the 2nd October 2018. It is running about 10 minutes late here at 1018

Class 87 No 87001 Royal Scot on display at the NRM York.
Built at Crewe Works and delivered on 1st June 1973, named Stephenson on 14th January 1976 and renamed Royal Scot on 11th July 1977, withdrawn on the 32nd anniversary of it's delivery on 1st June 2005.

08911 'Matey' stands outside the NRM's Shildon outbase on the 7th October 2017. The locomotive came in to NRM ownership in 2004, I seem to recall reading at the time it was donated by EWS rather than sold, can anyone confirm?

'Locomotion' was built by Robert Stephenson & Co at the Forth Works in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It was the first locomotive in the world to be used on a Public Railway at the opening of the Stockton & Darlington Railway in September 1825.
