Note Taking Tip: Focus on key words and concepts. The most important change you can make to improve your note-taking skills is to focus solely on taking down key words and concepts. #notes
Peace. Love. Unity. Respect.
A few years ago I made a little Christmas photo card for my online friends. It's a rainbow-hued composite image of 7 different flower pictures I had posted throughout the year.
The original composite can be found here.

A vintage-style card inspired by A Blog Named Hero's current challenge. Details are on my blog watermarks. TFL!
For my World Bank currency I decided to not use many preexisting symbols to create a "universal" feeling. With the abstract design, individuals can inject their own feelings/stories of the world or the World Bank.
I chose to call my currency "Intras" from "intra" which is a latin prefix for "within". I wanted to focus on how these pieces of papers are useless if they are not within the system of connected, rational humans.
When I first thought of "currency" I thought of the numerous, unnecessary lines used to create the image through the use of crosshatching and varying thicknesses. I felt like the main purpose was to be decorative and make the bill harder to counterfeit, so I took this idea and tried to amplify it (evident in the 10 Intras bill). I also looked at the World Bank logo (a Sphere, compromised of a circle and 6 inner lines) and tried to incorporate a more exaggerated version into my currency.
The 10 Intra bill was created with the theme of globalization, where the world is becoming more interconnected. The intersecting lines represent intersecting lives in a world that is becoming smaller to humans.
The 20 Intra bill was created with the theme of "small planet, big problems", with the idea of things falling apart or coming together (depending on the viewer). There are also echoes within the center design to represent history repeating itself. The design for this bill is more abstract than the former and allows for more open interpretation.
Sidenote: Accidentally made a 20 Intra bill instead of a 25 bill.

NOTE: Look "wall-eyed" at the top pair or "cross-eyed" at the bottom pair to get a 3D image from the fused pictures. Another illustration.
Here's a helpful tip for viewing stereo pairs.

Used a bunch of the Dear Lizzy Neopolitan collection from my PC mag win. :-)
A friend (not the mysterious Jason) lent me some of his Stephen King books so that I may get acquainted with him. Inside the first book, and honestly the reason I chose this one to start with, was this sweet note.
Volunteers and staff from many agencies (including Red Cross and Christian County CERT) were on hand today at the First Baptist Church in Ozark, Missouri for their part of Operation "Hurricane Harmon" - a regional exercise to simulate opening multiple shelters in the Ozarks to shelter evacuees from a hurricane (or other disaster). Changes to the Employment Standards Act will leave health-care providers with more time to spend with patients by eliminating the need for workers to get sick notes for short-term absences from work.
