A late comer to the war, Wee Fea Naval Communications and Operational Centre, also known as HMS Prosperine, became operational in 1943. It served as the Base HQ and Communications Centre for Scapa Flow under Naval Command and at its height served up to nearly 9,000 phone calls per day with a staff of 270 most likely serving shifts. The centre facilitated communications across all sectors of defence within Scapa Flow. The centre could utilise copper phone cables wired directly to each mooring buoy in the Flow, as well as morse code, wireless, and light signalling.

The building is protected and holds Grade B listing, and while it is in poor condition, is not thought to be at imminent risk of further decay.

The site was visited in August 2021 on a very damp day! A number of the external images have been brightened to bring out more detail.

This is a set of designs that I did in Visual Resource class for MIAD's fund raising event 'Creative Fusion'. My works weren't chosen, but they were ones of the running ups.

My concept is to represent the students of MIAD as the creative minds behind everything by showing the flow of creativity (via colorful ribbon) that flow into anonymous silhouette. My main purpose, however, is to do something beautiful.

(Note inaccurate San Marino flag... naughty!!)

Notes from the Hacktatus Project, by David Williams and J. Nathan Matias.

This set of objectives helped us plan the Hacktatus anti-designs and has also influenced our plans for a scholarly digital edition of the Tractatus.

I was experimenting Tonal Interchange concept.

This is what was in my birthday package: Field Notes, and lots of 'em!

The iPad 3's back camera works well to photograph sketches and take reference photos. I used Pic Collage to put the images together.

Note markings on chest (more easily seen in image 1) and pronounced rufous-brown tail.

This shot is rather blurry but these flit around a lot and are hard to catch. My attention was drawn to the distinctive tail colouring. Thanks to Resolution45 for the ID
