Bernie has only two teeth left but he still likes to take care of them and his gums ;)!
This kind of picture would have been impossible to take a few months back. Not that he didn't play, but as soon as he saw me looking at him, he would stop and if I dared coming close with the camera, he would flee... Now he's comfortable enough to allow it, and that's huge!

There is currently no specific treatment for coronavirus.
Antibiotics do not help, as they do not work against viruses.
Treatment aims to relieve the symptoms while your body fights the illness.

The UK's coronavirus death toll reached 281 this afternoon.
It was also announced there are now 5,683 confirmed cases.
Take care, stay safe.
So lovely and trusting this rescue donkey at Sarisbury Hampshire. He had no teeth however did not stop him from eating an apple.
I guess that after you saw the English, Jordanians, Israelis, Palestinians,
and none of them really helped you,
you have all the reasons in the world to look at a strange photographer this way…

Back Story ...................
.
3:45 AM, I'm semi awake listening to the thunder with an occasional flash of lightning.
Next thing I know there's a wet little nose poking my arm.
The Worm is trying to tell me there's a monster outside and I am to protect her from harm. This is my job according to her.
Now this is a dog that kills cobras without a second thought but the unknown monster in the sky is just to much to deal with !
I rub her head an she soon disappears back under the bed figuring everything must be OK now .
It was around 11;30PM when I laid my head on the pillow but at this point there's no use trying to get back to sleep, I have things to do.
By 4AM the computer is running an this is just enough time to answer emails and start getting the camera gear in order for todays run.
At 5AM there's a sliver of light, just enough to see a little bit, plus the light on the porch helps a lot.
Computer is turned off due to the lightning flashes getting closer an the rain is gaining speed.
From the porch I see the 5 big aluminum bowels we use to wash our clothes in filling up with rain water coming off the roof. That means a lot of sticks, leaves and dirt, not water we can use except to water plants but no need for that now.
FYI, We have no clothes washer, it's all done by hand.
So, Mr Monkey Boy With No Brain 4 Thinking decides it's best if he runs out into the down pour wearing only shorts and sandals and turn them over . And that is just what I did.
Moving a break neck speed thinking this will save me from getting to wet, Monkey Boy with no brain for thing proceeds to flip the 5 large aluminum bowels over in nearly no light except the one casting a shadow from the porch.
Upon grabbing the last of the 5 large aluminum bowels that are used to wash our clothes in Mr Monkey Boy with no brain for thinking FREEZES !.........!........!
Raised up with in arms reach is one very pissed off King Cobra !
Now Mr Monkey Boy with no brain 4 thing is thinking "This Is Not Good !"
.
Picture this if you can.....
Mr Monkey Boy standing motionless in his shorts and rubber sandals getting soaked from the down pour.Lightning flashes going off all around the place.
2+ meter pissed off King Cobra with it's head raised up to waist level hissing and giving me the real bad evil look.
I'm wishing there was a camera in my hand.....
This was perfect for a horror movie with the flashing light reflecting in the Cobras eyes...Steelburg at it's best.
.
Seemed as if hours past maybe even a couple lifetimes past not sure cuz I didn't so much as blink my eyes !
.
Probably didn't take more then a minute or two but eventually the Cobra saw the threat was no longer a threat and moved on. But ! When he did move on he went right past my leg, which by the way was planted on the ground like a tree only inches from the slithering serpent....;-0
.
I hate it when stuff like that happens before breakfast !
.
Soon I was sorted out with dry clothes and all the preparations ready for the morning run out to the monkey temple.
Rained all the way out so changing clothes was mute.Rained all the way back too. In fact it's raining right now.
All the dogs were fed and there was no monkeys for Betty to play with in the DMZ.
Caught this one freaked out monkey in the entrance to the cave so I shot him.
In total there was only 21 photos taken this morning and most were only iffy at best
Right now Mr Monkey Boy With No Brain 4 Thinking is dry with food in his belly.
.
The End.........................;-)

This, I think, is my favorite picture from the trip.
He is our neighbour in our village, and he's been a friend to the family for a long time. The second I saw him I knew I had to get a photo of him. I shot a series of photos of him, some with his wife and son, but this was the best expression. His mustache, up on one side, down on the other. His pointy beard, with no hair coming from the sides of his face. His missing teeth. His 'parna' ( i guess that translates to somethin like a small turban). His hands, old and shiny. His shiny face, his droopy eyebrows. His pointy nose.
He's just too cool.
Old billy big head has outgrown his Christmas hat already and its only November!

Most people assume once you become a senior, loosing your teeth is inevitable. Tooth loss is common, but in majority of the cases, just like most things in life, if you loose your teeth and end up with false teeth, you’re probably the cause.
Baby teeth fall out on their own to be replaced with adult permanent teeth. However, adult teeth don’t fall out from natural causes. Disease or trauma are usually the culprits for adult teeth dying.
No matter your age, your teeth can be healthy and/or you could lose your teeth at any age.
Studies reveal gum disease is the main cause, in majority of the cases, for tooth loss in seniors. And in most instances, gum disease is the result of not taking good care of your mouth with regular, daily brushing and flossing. With complete dentures, the facial features do change. The cheeks look sunken but more importantly, chewing food will never be the same. Even with the best fitting dentures, acrylic teeth on an acrylic base will not quite feel as secure as your own teeth. Implants are an option, but not everyone can afford or have adequate, healthy bone needed for this procedure. The best answer for preventing tooth loss is regular check ups and proper home oral hygiene. Just two to three minutes a day, especially at bedtime, can keep you and your teeth smiling for a lifetime.
Eating at night before bedtime can be a real problem. Saliva is reduced while you sleep, which produces a dry mouth that bacteria love. With a dry oral environment, it’s easy for bacteria to convert food to acid, especially if you ate fermenting foods such as pasta, white bread or meat.

Not all art is a pretty picture.
Art is created with various pigments, oxides, ephemera, found objects
on various surfaces
with brushes, palette knives, pencils, pens, fingers, glue, wood blocks . . .
cameras . . . computers . . . clay . . . you name it!
This *visual journaling* piece combines 2 different shots
from a printmaker's shelf to a grafitti artist's wall . . .
Calligraphically, it appeals to me!
Metaphorically, it has helped me process some writing
which has been on the wall, but not honestly addressed.
“I feel that art can have a message, can provoke and still be beautiful.
I use texture and iridescent pigments,
which remind me of the sparkle of broken glass
and the rainbow in oil and gas spills.”
~ Janet Culbertson ~
"The guest at the lower end of the middle couch,
with three hairs on his bald head
and his scalp streaked with pigment,
who is digging in his big mouth with a toothpick,
is a fraud, Aefulanus, He has no teeth.”

As the inaugural stranger for my new project the (608) strangers, I present a good soul and as good a smile as I've seen in a while. After snapping a photo of Patience for stranger number 100 in my 100 more strangers project, I was moved by the kind heart and demeanor of the man I learned to be known as Chief. While we had never met directly, he knew of me as the photo guy; explaining to the bunch that I take photos everyday of anyone and anything. A very observant individual at that, which at that point I explained to him that I had yet to take his photo. He chuckled and said "go ahead," I wanted to get a nice big smile for the photo so I told a few funny lines and just simple things that make me happy. One of things I told Chief was "show me your pearly whites," grinning he opened his mouth and showed off what he had left. While I had a feeling he felt slightly ashamed at having so few teeth, I expressed that the teeth he had were better then no teeth at all. He gave me the good word that he had freshly shaved up his face this morning, or else he would have been sporting a Santa beard for the photo op.
After a few snaps, I started to take a few notes on my new friend. I learned that Chief has called Madison home on/off for the better part of the last 30 years. In his younger days, when not spending time on the isthmus he used to work carnivals (as a car-nee no less). With the long shaggy hair and toothless smile, I could definitely see him operating a ride or offering me a dart to throw to win a prize. He told me that he even worked for a few different circuses in the states as well as out of the country, one of the notable troupes was the Ringling Brother's circus.
We chatted a bit about how life is about the good people you surround yourself with, and call them a family. It doesn't matter what one has vs. another because in reality we are one big family, he exclaimed; no words more true have been said. My phone began to buzz in my pocket, sounding the alarm that it was time for me to go to work. I thanked the group for their time, and left with a new group of faces that are no longer strangers of the (608). To be fitting so that I may still contribute to the 100 strangers group on Flickr, I provide the link for you to check out some awesome photographs and photographers in the group. Maybe you will feel inspired enough to join, and undertake the challenge that is 100 strangers!

I found this at the Adamstown Flea Market. There actually were quite a number of dealers there with photographs. I ran in to one of my Internet dealers who was there as a buyer----I would guess that since the demand is there, the dealers put their photographs out, knowing they have a market. Down here in the Southland, perhaps there are fewer people looking, and thus a dearth of material.
The dealer who had this photo asked me what I liked about it. I just told him it had something special going on. It's great that it's beat-up---that means it was looked at and valued. Thel nickname is great, and the up-from-under angle of the photo is great. Sunshine looks a little bit like Buddy Ebsen. I first got to know Buddy Ebsen when he played Fess Parker's sidekick in Disney's Davy Crockett series. I know he had been around before that, but that was my first encounter with him. He had an aw-shucks, good-ole-boy naturalness to him that I liked. I never liked him quite as much on the Beverly Hillybillies---he was playing a broad stereotype that always seemed hokey, but I'm sure it paid the bills.
Buddy Ebsen was a big-time conservative and Ronald Reagan supporter. Let me tell you, if they ever try to put Ronald Reagan up on Mount Rushmore, I'm getting my dynamite out of the storage shed. But still, I like Buddy Ebsen---he's the kind of solid stock that made America, and Sunshine looks like he fits right in.
He's wearing a baseball cap, but the light and the shadow it makes makes the cap look like a western hat. That's my favorite thing about this photo, besides the creases and the nickname and the angle of the photo. Heck, I like everything about this photo. I'm going right down to the Board of Elections and change my party registration tomorrow.
This is Mike he's a legend around these ways and he wants all the kids to know that they should brush their teeth twice a day everyday.
