As you can see here the camel/cognac color doesn't go all the way through which is a bit of a disappointment. Given the overall quality of the notebook I really would've expected to find drum dyed leather.

So here it is in all its glory. I don't usually use a fountain pen but my ballpoint pen does it justice, too, I think.
The pen's handmade, I bought it from a turner on DaWanda (which is sort of like a German etsy) a couple months back. The olive wood feels really nice and it darkens with time so it's just as alive as the notebook's leather. :)
The hinges are removed from the edges of the inner spine. This creates a lever effect upon opening, lifting the whole textblock, which makes the book open more easily and stay flat when lying down.
