Energia e speranza. Nei teatri e nei club, nelle strade e nei quartieri è tempo di JAZZMI. Dal 21 al 31 ottobre oltre duecento eventi diffusi in tutta la città.
Il bassista plurivincitore di Grammy Richard Bona e il sensazionale pianista cubano Alfredo Rodriguez condivideranno il palco per quattro concerti esplosivi: il primo giovedì 21 Ottobre al Blue Note di Milano.
Prima del concerto, piccola celebrazione per la scomparsa di Franco Cerri e presentazione del JazzMI 2021 affidata a Nick The Nightfly (Malcolm MacDonald Charlton), Andrea De Micheli CEO di Casta Diva (proprietaria del Blue Note) e Luciano Linzi, direttore artistico del JazzMI.
Richard Bona è un polistrumentista e cantante vincitore di un Grammy, tra i bassisti internazionali più affermati.
Rappresentando le sue origini africane, la musica di Bona affronta questioni di continenti e altre lotte globali. La sua attenzione e il modo unico in cui si connette con il suo pubblico lo hanno reso un appuntamento fisso nel jazz mondiale.
Bona ha girato, registrato e creato forme d’arte musicale con i grandi: Herbie Hancock, Harry Belafonte, Steps Ahead, Quincy Jones, Chick Corea, Buena Vista Social Club, Cesária Évora, Sting, Mike Stern, Pat Metheny, Stevie Wonder, Bobby McFerrin, Chucho Valdés, George Benson e molti altri. Insieme a varie collaborazioni degne di nota, Richard ha anche insegnato improvvisazione jazz alla New York University e insegna e guida continuamente giovani talenti in tutto il mondo.
Alfredo Rodriguez è un pianista e compositore cubano rappresentante del nuovo jazz latino. La musica di Alfredo Rodriguez è intrisa di una forza rara e stupefacente, chiaro riflesso della personalità di questo giovane pianista cubano, che a soli venticinque anni si è trovato a vivere quella che a prima vista potrebbe apparire una fiaba. E’ un vero talento, viscerale sia nelle composizioni che nelle sue performance pianistiche.
