For entirely non-train reasons I found myself at Cherrywood West on the first day of 2025. Turned on the scanner just in time to hear H19 call the approach to Cherrywood. It was a pleasant surprise - though not entirely unexpected - to see a pair of veteran SD60's come around the bend a few moments later. Some last minute adjustments to my camera settings (mostly) saved the day as the sun kept peeking in and out from behind the clouds.

Our first non severe thunderstorms of the 2016 season.
I've been itching to get out to capture some Nebraska stormscapes. I was totally satisfied with that afternoons storm front that passed through about 6:30pm.
Not bad for my first batch of storm captures 2016!

Pen and coloured notes
It wasn’t so easy to make it😃
With one hand tries to keep the pen steady, with the other to set a sharp point, then trigger... well, unfortunately it is not 100% sharp
I'm proud of how this turn out.
Basically this is L, the "Sherlock Holmes" in the anime Death Note, which is the best anime I've ever seen.
I used few things for making this, just a pen, procreate and skin and black colors.
I hope you like this
ps: maybe I've tagged too much people :p

Note to self:
It's best to explore dark country dirt roads in the daylight before heading out to try to take night sky shots... because after driving an hour to get to the dark country road, and driving for 20 minutes on the dark country road, only to come to a giant sink hole the entire width of the road, filled with water.... causing you to turn around and drive another 20 minutes back to where you started.... you pretty much lose interest in taking night sky shots... and you decide that you really don't feel like standing out in the middle of a field all alone in the dark anymore anyway ... so you drive the hour back home thinking that maybe it's time you find someone else crazy enough to think that this sounds like a good idea (if such a person even exists) to drag along with you next time. Yeah... pretty much a wasted night.... so.... here's some flowers sitting on the railing of an abandoned farmhouse on the dark country road... before it got dark. Well, maybe it wasn't a total waste of time. ; )
While in an areas of downtown Vancouver, I saw this man on the sidewalk, busily writing notes in a book, totally oblivious of people passing by.
A small cozy cafe' near Hoan Kiem Lake. They serve lovely drinks and pies. Customers can take note papers and write about what ever comes to mind then glue their colourful notes inside the cafe': walls, ceiling, windows ...^_^...

For the Macro Mondays theme, Jan 25 2021, we were asked to photographically depict a song that we had related to during lock-down. The song that spun through my mind during that time was Queen's "Another one bites the dust".
During our lock-down in New Zealand, at one stage we seemed to have a lot of flies coming into the house (Summer), so we were singing the song as we swatted them.
Funny thing - I had only just managed to stop it singing around in my head all day, when this theme was suggested, but now it's back 😂 LOL
🎶Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust 🎶
