Although I have never been to the North Pole I think my view over Annapolis' Spa Creek during the Blizzard of 2010 comes close

"Where the Spirit of Christmas Lives Year Round”

Now that Christmas is over Santa can catch up on some reading.

A second test. Wanted to see how the weather would effect the camera (-2 out there!), and what effect (if any) the moon being out would have on the final outcome. Nearly 500 images taken in a two and a half hour spell.

I was trying to catch this train on a bitter cold afternoon. I thought that I would just hop out of the truck, run over to the snow and click away. I took two steps into what is "normally" rock hard snow this time of year, and sunk up to my stomach. I only had sneakers and a jacket on. To the smiles of the crew and frozzen toes, legs buns and all, I present one of my most favorite shots. Two days later, I knew I had my toes back!!

Skijoring with 3 dogs can be a bit thrilling...more thrilling than I've been willing to try.

More snaps from a photo walk in my neighbourhood during a cold snap.

WMSR #734 has just arrived at "The North Pole"... more commonly known as Frostburg. A train full of ecstatic kids will soon launch an all out assault on Santa Claus who awaits them in the station.

Light at Svalbard

I love the winter light and how it illuminates the branches of the spruce tree in my front yard, even at -40F. Look at this large and you will see the redpoll sitting among the spruce boughs.
