The slushy dismal snow returns and immediately starts to thaw. No winter wonderland, just a bit wet, a bit white and a bit cold. The only thing in its favour is that it brings out the colour in the beech trees.

Signal Box

I love this old red brick signal box at Bishops Lydeard station. I would imagine, on a foggy day, you would feel like you were in the middle of the Victorian ghost story, 'The Signalman' by Charles Dickens. Very atmospheric!

Commemorative Plaque marking the opening of the Tarka Trail which now forms part of the SW Coast Path.
