The Bristol Channel coast near Lee Bay. Lucy, the three legged lurcher from the Grampus pub.

Some damp weather after a long dry spell seems to have brought up the mushrooms.

Clovelly: Bob Scott took this picture of the old fishing quay in which it’s really very unique. The village of Clovelly is still owned by one family, a tradition that goes back to the Norman Conquest. No trip round Clovelly is complete without a good look round the visitor centre and it is one of those places that should not be rushed. Allow at least half a day to explore this place fully and if time allows you to spend a whole day here. It really is a treat.

Scenes from the cleave

I've noticed the crops appearing in this field for some days now and I was drawn by the shapes and lines they made. This evening the sun was catching the new growth giving it a real intensity.

I finally succumbed to doing a sunset. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I find it difficult to judge one gaudy picture from another - call it a blind spot. The colour seems to distract from composition.

I took maybe 20 pictures in about 5 minutes as the sun went down, then about 30 minutes deciding which was the best, I'm still not sure that I picked the right one.

North Devon: Bob Scott took this picture of the beautiful beach of Saunton Sand, that seemingly endless stretches of sandy beaches with extraordinary dune systems make North Devon's coastline one of the finest in the world.
