Fixed all the problems in the first state of printing. Much better on white paper. Also, used a Zerkal etching paper so the detail is better. You can see even the marks from glass paper here and there.
It was late at night, I stood on the balcony and looked up at the sky. The stars seemed dim, and it made me feel weird. There were lots of clouds, and they made the stars muted. The painting was surreal. But still, there was no anxiety or fear.
Suddenly, a luminous dot began to move in the sky. That day, a satellite was launched and this information was everywhere in the media. Nothing unusual, the first thought in my head. But gradually the luminous dots became more and more, they moved in a well-defined orbit, sometimes at different distances from each other, sometimes close, sometimes farther away. Slowly, one after another, at different intervals, they flew through the sky into the dark clouds.
Some glowed and did not flicker, some gave themselves extra speed and began to glow brighter. The stars didn't look real, they seemed like satellites hanging in the sky.
There seemed to be something up there other than satellites, it watching both them and us. It was as if something had changed inside, another world had been born. It was easy, unexpected, few people understood it at that time. That's how we got to the next level. We opened the doors without knowing what was coming next.
This is my rethinking "Still life with apples". Instead of a metal can, I decided to add a several transparent plates, not one as in the original. The apples are chaotically scattered on a tablecloth that the viewer looks down on. The general rhythm sets the movement, some apples roll and fall from the table, some stopped. I also split the table into two parts, the first part farther away, the second part closer. It's just two angles, different looks. We look from a distance, and we get closer. What I was most interested in was color. The compositional component came out by itself.
For me it's summer, fresh harvest, the taste of something sweet, rain, warmth and comfort at home during a storm, calmness and a reminder that nothing stands still. The process is cyclical. What we see before us today, we can see in a year. It's something that exists but is absent at the same time, an instant.
Today a few words about practicality. It's something different for everyone. And at the same time, there are many similarities. I only take what I need, use it as much long as I can. Just how much I need, no more. Only for business, for important purposes, tasks. There's a rational grain to it, no one can objecting. That's how life works, if you live it without meaning, you won't get great results. And only weighing everything for and against, acting purposefully, without unnecessary fuss, calmly, step by step and then the dream becomes closer. A simple choice that everyone can make. Here it is not a question of a practical attitude to things, but to life and the world as a whole. About the world that we are losing today, don't you think?

A quietly powerful moment within The Phillips Collection is captured in this image of Étoile by Jean Arp (also known as Hans Arp). Installed in an intimate alcove of the museum, the artwork exemplifies Arp’s lifelong commitment to biomorphic abstraction, minimalism, and spiritual form. Two vertical panels, each a soft matte white, rise like modernist totems. Out of their surface emerge smooth, organic shapes—rounded nodules, a slanted cylinder, and curved extrusions—casting gentle shadows that subtly shift throughout the day.
The placement of the sculpture, nestled within a recess of clean white walls, encourages contemplation. There is a hushed clarity here, where geometry meets breath and volume becomes both tactile and metaphysical. Arp’s approach invites touch through the eye—his forms are non-representational, yet they feel familiar, almost like archetypes unearthed from memory or dreams.
Born in Alsace and active in the Dada and Surrealist movements, Arp's later work distills those influences into something more serene and abstract. Étoile strips away ornament, leaving a constellation of forms that feel placed by intuition rather than design. There's a rhythm in their arrangement that balances tension and grace.
The contrast between this white relief and the more linear, black painting glimpsed in the adjacent gallery highlights Arp’s gentle rebellion against rigidity. Where others imposed structure, he offered flow. Where others defined meaning, he left space for interpretation. The result is a work that breathes—even in stillness, even in silence.
This image captures not only the artwork but also the museum's curatorial insight. The lighting, warm and discreet, enhances the dimensionality of Arp’s forms without overpowering them. The surrounding space respects the integrity of the piece, offering it the visual and emotional room it needs to resonate.
Viewers encountering this work often pause, struck not by spectacle but by stillness. It’s a reminder that modern art doesn’t need to shout—it can whisper, coax, and move. Arp’s contribution to 20th-century abstraction remains vital precisely because of this subtlety. He wasn’t interested in defining the universe, only in reminding us that form, like life, is in constant evolution.
This artwork and its installation are a masterclass in restraint. The photograph seeks to honor that ethos—centering the work, allowing the architecture to recede, and capturing the calm, almost sacred quiet of the moment. Whether you are a fan of minimalism, a student of modern art, or simply someone who appreciates the purity of form, this piece offers a lasting impression.
Over the years, whenever I have been near the sea and have been lucky enough to have found a pebble with a hole, I have collected it with a view to one day mounting them to make a little display of them. It turns out to be very difficult to drill a hole in a pebble without breaking it. This is the only one that survived.
This area is made up of seven hills. It's a large territory with rugged terrain. Located right in the middle. It have its own charm. Like a fisherman's net, the streets laid out all over the place. A lot of roads cross this area, old, dusty but reliable. It very convenient for a long-distance traveler, coming here he know exactly where to go next and how. So crowds of people from all over the world flock here. A motley and bright company. But everyone know why they came here.
As the basic functional unit of the structure of all living beings. Being a complex system containing common, characteristic features, it is a kind of mirror of any organism. It has all the functions and properties. It is able to act purposefully even without a single control center. Universality in pure form from the Creator. It's a whole microcosmos. And at the same time the whole Universe is one cell in the body of the same Creator.
In this piece, (it is a bit hard to see in the photo) the strips as they have been cut from the canvas are rolled around the brass rod and as they are cut to different lengths, they make different size rolls around the rod. A pleasing by-product of making the strips different lengths. To emphasise the brass rod with the coiled canvas, the 'frame' which holds the rod is 'open' allowing the wall on which the piece is hung to show through.
Continuing the theme of the development of the entertainment industry, the first games, game consoles, I would like to remember how much fun and new it was. When we bought the cartridge and wanted to see exactly what developers were offering us. And in a huge list of games, we searched for the coolest, most exciting ones.
In those days, the animated screen saver was sometimes better than the game itself, but nevertheless we enjoyed controlling the pixel characters, researching, solving puzzles, moving from one level to another. The world we'd never seen was now on our screens.

From the series, the colors of my city.
I often like to be in silence when I feel calm and no one can to interfere me, it's like a meditative state. When I go out to street, in the immediate vicinity of my home, I am attracted to special territories. On which I feel the power. It's a kind of mysticism. By education, I'm a professional historian and, unconsciously, I'm attracted to archeological excavations. It's when you have an ancient street under your feet but you don't even know about it. When a new house was built in place of an old one. Life was boiling on an abandoned wasteland covered with thick grass and trees in ancient times, other people lived there. Crossroads, buildings, squares, temples, everything plunges into the ground, burns in fire, under the blue sky. And I look into this emptiness, there is something native there, in this long forgotten past.
A constructivist low relief piece. In this and the other similar pieces I was exploring the idea of taking forward Lucio Fontana's work where he would use a knife to make a slash in a canvas. I recently saw one of these pieces close up and found that he placed a piece of black canvas behind the slash. My idea was not to simply cut the canvas but to remove strips which could be manipulated and rolled up. In this piece, the strips of canvas are wrapped around a pole which is fixed to the canvas with silver nails.

The title refers to the anonymous owner of the two tools that comprise the main elements of this piece. They belonged to a man who worked on the bodies of Harrier jump jets. Wood, brass and tufnol
A little geometrical watercolour (200mm by 200 mm) study for a possible oil painting. Heightened with body colour.
