I created this image for a magazine story that ended up being removed. Unfortunately the decision was based off its "controversy" that wasn't worth the potential bad press - I disagree, as the people interviewed are part of this school, and their representation is just as important as the same dean that was profiled for another story. This story was about students at my university that identify as non-binary gender (when you identify with neither gender exclusively).
Although it was pulled from the magazine, I felt this image should still be seen because these students deserve acknowledgement and acceptance. This is my way to show support, not only of non-binary gender, but of any identity, gender and sexual... No one should be censored for their identity.
omfg someone on earth asked this question before!
i'm not alone!!
(source: www.quora.com/Can-someone-be-fraysexual-and-demiromantic-...)
.
i only fall in love with people i know well, usually were friends first
and i only feel sexual attraction towards people i don’t know well, usually strangers
so does that make me a demiromantic fraysexual?
i mean, the two feelings are so separate in me.
how tf am i suppose to know this if nobody ever taught this at school?
Every movie and everyone was just like, you will fall in love with someone and you will enjoy having sex with that person. And if you don't, they're not your "true love", or there must be something wrong with you...
i was sooooooooo confused...
(by the way, i'm also non-binary & genderfluid. Hmmm... just imagine the frustration growing up this way) (Sometimes I think, for people like me, to have a human body is the most painful thing on earth..)
Although I don't really like labels, I had to admit that I need these micro labels. (especially when i need to explain my situation to someone else, just really glad these words exist..)
finding these labels is like finding the hair pin your younger sister lost in a huge soccer field
not even exaggerating.
i'm literally crying rn
wtf......ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Well! What a busy time of it I've had over the last couple of months.
Being a Midsumma Photographer was both a hoot and an honour, but meant long hours whilst also working on my multidisciplinary series during my Yarra Sculpture Gallery Summer Residency!
