While thinking about apologizing I started thinking about the flip side of apologizing, and that is forgiving.
It's important for us to tell someone we forgive them when they apologize. We shouldn't just forgive them because it's the right thing to do, but because we truly do.
Forgiveness can be a healing hand to someone who is hurting because of something that they have done or said to another person. When that person which offended us comes to us and says that they are sorry for what they have done, we need to ask God that He would help us to forgive them and heal the hurt that both people might have.
We don't always think about it, but when we forgive someone of their offense, we can help heal their hurt.
Please, remember that forgiveness is important and we need to let someone know we forgive them, when we do and they have apologized.
Part 2 of week 3
so most of you probably won't see the significance in this photo. but to me, it's a big deal.
this is the first photo i've ever posted on Flickr where i'm wearing no makeup. i've been meaning to take a photo along the lines of "you are beautiful" by Christina Aguilera for months. i've got a couple of plans in my head, and today i finally got about starting them. this isn't anywhere near how i planned it, but i'll take some more with the lyrics soon.
just before christmas i took a photo showing how i feel about wearing makeup. personally, i feel a bit hypocritical embracing the whole 'natural beauty' thing, because i know that i wouldn't leave the house without makeup. and recently, i've been putting some thought to that. if you talk to any guy any decent guy, he'll tell you he'd rather see you with zero makeup. i think it's the threat of girls which is why we wear makeup. we all follow eachother. we all wear makeup because if you don't, you stand out, you look odd. and girls are the sort of people who would notice that change and comment, make a point of it.
from what these decent guys i know say, they'd rather see me without makeup. i have to admit i haven't yet allowed that to happen, but maybe someday i'll be brave enough to. and maybe someday i won't be so terrified of being judged by girls that i won't wear makeup...but until then, i'll hide behind my mask of indifference.
(oh yeah, and sorry i look so tired. i got back from my five days in london LAST NIGHT. i've been working 9 - at least 6 every day, having about 7 hours of sleep each day...it's been crazy, but amazing. a good experience for 15 year old me.)
My old camera had a really strong affinity for yellow. I liked to randomly splash some in where none actually existed.
Another in my series of bad photography techniques (I wrote the book). This was supposed to be a double exposure but I’m not really sure what really happened. The focus is superb as well.
so much fun. first meetup. chatted, then went by some water to take some pictures. gotta run, but a few more shortly.
#nomakeup just my look from today. really happy with how I look. 3 years ago, I never thought I could get to this point.
A friend of mine gave me a picture today which has inspired me.
It starts off with:
"WARNING!!!
Things NOT to say to someone with a disabling chronic condition."
It hit home.
15 reasons it gives.
This is the first.
"But you don't look sick".
Ok, let me tell you something.
Look up. Yes, that's me. Before, and After.
The first picture was taken this morning, BEFORE my meds kicked in. So I was in considerable pain, and I didn't care that I took a snapshot that shows my face breaking out, redness, the awful bags under my eyes and my seemingly endless pout I have. Not intentional.
Don't tell me I don't look sick.
I don't sleep well.
Toss and turn.
The meds help me manage the pain, not the spasm- yet.
But here we go... This afternoon, when I finally found the energy to do... The right photo.
Makeup.
A swipe of mineral foundation here, some concealer there... Blend it in, ok skin's an even tone. Add some more concealer to under eyes- try to blend the awful blue and black half moons that seem permanently camped out there. Fail. Well, not totally.... You can't see them AS bad.
Swipe some color onto my lids.
In an attempt to make myself feel better, I try different combinations. This happened to be Mandarin and Cranberry, and a pretty white shimmer on my brow bone. Color in my brows, I almost forgot... Then grab the black eyeliner.
Go over it with Fig to tone down the black... Mascara, and another sweep of the brush to put more foundation on my skin. Evens it out even more- great stuff.
A healthy swipe of bronzer (what a lifesaver...) mascara, and lip gloss.
There you have it.
I don't look sick anymore.
I don't look rundown.
I don't look tired.
Exhausted.
In chronic pain.
In any pain.
The color distracts and draws attention to my eyes.
They, however, still reveal my story.
Don't tell me I don't look sick.
The consequences... Will be creative.
I was asked to take a pic IMMEDAITELY for someones project, of me with NO MAKE UP ON WHATSOEVER.. so here you go... ugh its horrid but i did it!
Aha!
Been discovering the subtle and deafeningly obvious truths towards life's greater mysteries. I used to be like the U2 song lyric...."I still haven't found what I'm looking for"
Now I found it and its such a beautiful thing it adds a special bounce to my step and an unshakeable inner smile and knowing. Unfortunately it cannot be told or explained by mere words.
In the past I wished I could swallow it in a pill, I wished I would find it in the arms of a lover, I wished I could find it striving for ambition.....all these highs were fleeting and external of myself. Not to say they weren't enjoyable or satisfying.
Yet I discovered it is something you have to find within yourself. To live it daily in your own truth, beauty, purpose and wisdom. It's certainly been a school of hard knocks, yet I feel I have finally graduated to the next level and funnily the night mares I used to have about high school exams have stopped.

I'm pulling the weirdest expression here. Oh well. This was a quick shot. No makeup, hair is a wreck...aahhh.
How would you guys feel about me doing a question and answer video?
uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired. uninspired.
-I think it's because i'm so busy with school, but i need to get it together.
So the shirt doesn't look exactly green, but I promise it's Kelly Green - just not in the lighting I shot this in. I tried adjusting the hue to make it closer to the true color, but gave up. Oh well. :)
I hope you all had a very happy St. Patrick's Day, with lots of green food! ;) I'm about to go make myself a mint cookies and cream milkshake... with some green food coloring just for fun. :D
Some history on St. Patrick's Day
Some of my favorite Irish blessings and sayings:
As you slide down the banister of life,
may the splinters never point in the wrong direction!
May you always have walls for the winds, a roof for the rain, tea beside the fire, laughter to cheer you, those you love near you, and all your heart might desire.
May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
May you have the hindsight to know where you've been
the foresight to know where you're going and
the insight to know when you're going too far.
May the Lord keep you in His hand
And never close His fist too tight.
May those who love us love us
And those who don't love us
May God turn their hearts,
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May He turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.
May the Irish hills caress you.
May her lakes and rivers bless you.
May the luck of the Irish enfold you.
May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
