The Nomad Class SHIPs are the backbone of the Explorer fleet - Each SHIP can be docked to two others for the long term interstellar travel.
Once at the destination the SHIP can split to explore various planets or two can continue onto their next destination.

So ends my most ambitious SHIPtember efforts ... Rule 1 of Government Spending: why have one, when you can have three, at triple the cost?
I based this build on the wonderful art form Colie Wertz's Nomad Cluster SHIP (www.artstation.com/artwork/mmov) which is a tri-SHIP combo.
Special thanks to wonderful Chris for feedback and early brainstorming, and all the folks in the Space Discord and Instagram people and of course Flickr Folks!
Shot from a Chevy show a while back. I've always loved the '55 through '57 Chevy Nomad wagons.
Thank you all so very much for your visits, comments, and faves. I appreciate each and every one of you! Gracias. Merci. Danke. Obrigado. Grazie. Go raibh maith agat. Tapadh leat. Gratias tibi.

Livestock mobility, flexible use of rangelands, and diverse herds were key elements of traditional nomadic pastoral practices throughout the world and contributed to the high ecological stability of pastoral systems.
Nomads are still found today on the Tibetan Plateau and Himalaya. Known in the Tibetan language as drokpa, translating as “high-pasture people,” there are an estimated two million Tibetan-speaking nomads spread over a vast area. Throughout the Tibetan areas of what is now the People’s Republic of China and in the northern parts of Bhutan, India and Nepal, nomads are an important element in the economy and society wherever they are found, but their way of life is disappearing.

So I had a bit of free time today, meaning I could start work on the Everest set series.
I have a lot of fond memories of this set. It's one of the first Orient Expedition sets I bought and I bought it during a family trip to Legoland Windsor.
I wanted a bit more of a unique design for this revamp. Not so much of a generic hot air balloon design. The idea of multiple air bags seemed more appealing and a bit more heavy duty for a journey to Mount Everest.
The Lowell sphere has been used again, there's just something so handy about that technique. There aren't any nets on mecabricks, so I had to fashion my own by merging multiple rubber bands.
Eagled eyed viewers have probably spotted that there's and extra minifigure in this set revamp. It's Harry Cane!
I felt like it was only right to add him in for this final Adventure (plus he's been in every previous hot air balloon set as well and it felt like blasphemy not to include him).
A nomad, who wanders the wastes, cleansing it of the vile denizens who pillage, rape and murder.
He is the judge, jury, and executioner.
A fallout-inspired figure I made.
*THE ARMS ARE A NON-PRODUCTION SAMPLE GIVEN TO ME BY PECOVAM TO TOY AROUND WITH. THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE MASS PRODUCED. PLEASE DO NOT ASK EITHER ME OR PECOVAM FOR THESE ARMS.*
Enjoy!

There have been many places we have traveled, many adventures we've had, and most of all, met many wonderful people. Being a Nomad isn't always easy but we don't let the challenges stop us from being who we are.
Some of the challenges have been are injuries, illnesses, loss of gear, and a few other challenges but we haven't lost our love for each other, our adventure or for what we do.

It is really difficult for people like us (living in big cities) to fathom how it is to live freely, on the edge, day in day out.
I had always been enamored with how these nomads of Pushkar survived & make a living. Things like cell phones, car, TV, air conditioners, etc. which we think of as necessities hold no meaning to them at all.
This is why I firmly believe that one should travel at least once a year to a place where he/she has never been to & lose oneself only to find one back again.....

This one could be Nomada fave, some of the species are difficult to tell apart. The Nomad bees will parasitise various mining bee species, laying their own eggs in other bee's burrows. Hence the name Cuckoo is often used.
Have had two great days at a local Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust reserve. I love the colours of this little Nomad Bee

Winter...past
A scene that I have never revealed before, but comes from a day that I very much enjoyed some time back. Will we or won't we see a similar scene? Time will tell...won't it?

This lovely bee dropped in today - I think it's a Nomad Bee, but please correct me if I'm wrong! ;0)
The 1954 Chevrolet Corvette Nomad was a concept car built by General Motors and introduced at the 1954 General Motors Motorama in New York City. The Nomad was decidedly a sporty wagon way ahead of its time. The experimental Corvette Nomad made its debut along with the 1954 Corvette Hardtop and 1954 Corvette Corvair. Just like the Corvette Hardtop and Corvair, the Corvette Nomad concept vehicle looked like the 1953 Corvette that was a experimental show car at the 1953 Motorama. General Motors produced 5 of the 1954 Chevy Nomads for the auto show circuit, only 3 are known to exist. The Chevrolet Design Studio would created a forward thinking and forward looking design for the 1954 Nomad, including round headlamps mounted on gently curving fenders, a trademark Corvette grille and a forward sloping B-pillar.
GM reportedly place microphones around their cars at Motorama to record visitors reactions to the designs.
I photographed this one at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. You can also see the Corvette Corvair parked behind the Nomad.
As the digger wasps are now out in force patrolling the grass lands for prey to take back to feed their larvae all manner of potential victims have to be vigilante and watch the skies! This nomad bee had been hiding in the grasses watching to see if the coast was clear !
