someone has painted over it with white paint, and some of the school kids have stuck "wanted" signs around it for a reward of 10p, bless them!
a bit of a context shot...this is not , as was widely thought, some out of the way place but a relatively busy street with a school in it.

A badge that I got during 1977 in protest against the Queen's Silver Jubilee that was held that year. Also from the year of The Sex Pistols' released the (in) famous "God save the Queen" single. Pre-Thatcher days as well... Can't imagine anything as exciting record-wise being released this year.
Hit by it's worst recession in years; as unemployment soars; with around 15 million citizens living in abject poverty, the UK prepares to spend millions of pounds of taxpayers' money to "celebrate" the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Doubt if I'll be dancing in the streets to the sounds of Elton John (groan) and Paul McCartney (re-groan) as they brown-nose in favour of the royals. Quite disgusting really.
Debris trail from another broken life? Still, absolutely no excuse for dropping litter, especially glass.
The picture looks quite different close up, please do take a look in the 'original' view format if you're able to.
Bristol, May 2009.
Se nos acaba el tiempo, Madre,
huye de aquí.
Si todavía te quedan parajes,
si todavía te quedan aguas,
peces y aves, no mires atrás.
Si todavía tu aire es puro,
si todavía hay especies,
plantas y animales
que puedan pervivir:
huye ya de aquí.
Huye, porque este mundo se acaba,
y antes de verte el alma acorazada,
sin reconocerte en el paisaje,
prefiero ver a esta tierra morir.
He is Miraj, 13/14 yrs older street boy. I met him beside the lake at jigatala, Dhaka, Bangladesh, found him smoking/singing. He has got out from jail just few hours ago, was there for 15 days this time to fight with other street boys(see some scratch on his face). He went to jail several times on this small life. Sometime he got arrested from street at night without any reason. He grown up with his family(actually with his mother) at street but he doesn't know where they are now as left away his family on his early age. He went to school upto class three and had dream to be a pilot. Now sometime he works as bus helper, van helper, sometime doesnt do anything. Winter is just knocking, he hate winter as this become tough to sleep at street on winter. He doesn't want to live but don't know what to do.
There are more than thousands miraj around us in this city, sleep every night at street, not have any future only reason is, they born in poor family. Nobody care for them. Can't we ensure a better life for them?
