This small canister of laughing gas should be legally used in the making of whipping cream.
Although it is not illegal to be in possession of the gas, it is prohibited from being sold in England and Wales to under-18s if there is a risk they will inhale it.
A UK Home Office campaign last year on the risks of legal highs showed that laughing gas was the second most popular drug among young adults in 2013/14 after cannabis, being more widely used than cocaine and ecstasy.
Research by the Local Government Association has described as "deeply disturbing" the notion that many young people view nitrous oxide as safe, despite it being linked to a number of deaths. Among those to have died was 17-year-old London sixth former Joseph Benett, who suffered a cardiac arrest after taking the drug in 2012.

& there was light. Well more like four million volts of LED string light that sparked the evening sky bright. By an inherent streak of self-protection, I started counting the seconds till the thunder happened. A loud crack of whip snapped the quiet of the quaint suburban neighborhood of Atlanta. About 14-16 seconds had elapsed between the visual & audio show & I estimated the Lightning was a good 4 to 6 kilometers away. A safe distance for me to stand in the rain I felt. A spectacular display of bolts continued to sear the cool twilight blue skies. The air smelt of Ozone & Nitrous Oxide as the bolts kept inching closer. I wondered if the umbrella & the camera tripod would act as Lightning Conductors in the fast-approaching storm. A retreat was a prudent move as the non-stop clicking camera had captured quite a few good thunderbolts to my satisfaction.

A few decades ago in a county not too far from here there was a cocky albeit likable scoundrel named Stan Solo, his girlfriend Laura, and their big biker friend Chad Bacca. With the help of their imported Australian ’77 Ford Falcon, they’d smuggle anything, if the price was right. They jerry-rigged so may repairs and modifications to the car and patched on so many sheets of aluminum that they eventually called it “The Aluminum Falcon”. The car was not much to look at, but thanks to a suped-up nitrous enhanced V-8, it can loop the Kessel track in 12 seconds. This speed has come in handy at times as their shenanigans can attract the ire of mobsters and bounty hunters. Here we see that Stan is always ready for danger with his trusty scoped pistol, Laura is listening in on pursuing bad guys with her headphones, while Chad is quite the marksman with his crossbow.

Thought I'd post something a little different today.
Stumbled upon a car show while walking the dog. Then I spotted a 1969 Chevy Camaro 396 Rally Sport. Having owned one, my heart skipped a beat. This one was even the same color with the racing stripes!!
I pumped up the motor in mine, but nothing near this. What a beast of an motor. Notice the Nitrous for a little power boost.
I had this one in the works before the end of last year, but only got around to finishing it this past week due to vacation and a lack of motivation. But I'm back now and feeling pretty revitalized.
This was inspired by the #NFSTokyoNights movement.

"2.5 Seconds" climate change awareness series

Greenhouse gases are gases that trap heat in the atmosphere and cause the greenhouse effect on planets. The primary greenhouse gases in Earth's atmosphere are water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and ozone.
Human activities are changing the natural greenhouse. Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, we have produced a 45% increase in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide, the most dangerous and prevalent greenhouse gas. These levels are at the highest levels ever recorded. The last time the concentration of CO2 and methane was this high was over 3 million years ago. Carbon dioxide is the primary greenhouse gas, responsible for about three-quarters of emissions. In 2018, its levels reached the highest monthly average ever recorded.
The vast majority of anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide emissions come from the burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas, with additional contributions coming from deforestation, land use, soil erosion and agriculture (including livestock). The leading source of man-made methane emissions is animal agriculture.
The danger lies in the rapid increase of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that intensify this natural greenhouse effect. These gases absorb solar energy and keep heat close to Earth's surface, rather than letting it escape into space. For thousands of years, the global carbon supply was essentially stable as natural processes removed as much carbon as they released. By disrupting the atmospheric balance that keeps the climate stable, we are now seeing extreme effects around the globe.
Today, climate change is the term scientists use to describe the complex shifts, driven by greenhouse gas concentrations, that are now affecting our planet’s weather and climate systems. The climate changes, and it gets warmer. Extreme weather events, shifting wildlife populations and habitats, rising seas, food supply disruptions, increased wildfires and a range of other impacts. These effects are already having a significant impact on ecosystems, economies and communities.
