The word Nirvana means "to extinguish," such as extinguishing the flame of a candle. This "extinguishment" is not understood by Buddhists to mean annihilation, however. Rather, it is thought of as passing into another kind of existence.

The photo was taken in Beomeosa (Temple of the Nirvana Fish), temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism in Cheongnyong-dong, Geumjeong-gu, Busan, South Korea. Built on the slopes of Geumjeongsan, it is one of the country's leading urban temples.

Taken before dawn

A heart

before it could feel

the sun's warmth

and start anew

Forsaken what's true

My view

The eye of the storm

I observe calm

as I sort through

the inner violence

the clouds of inner-struggle brew

I look to the stars

and who we are look back

A hand reaches out

through the rippling black

Pulling us back

to what we once knew

Who we are becomes

who we're meant to be

When breath becomes air

Tears stream down our cheek

as we pick up

and make stained glass

of our shattered past

in this temple of humanity

Taken before dawn

A vow

to never leave

Through the Ajna I see

Dreams start to vibrate

the same wave-length

of reality

The sun burns a-gain

but don't save us

from the flames

Pain

burns off in stages

The soul remains

Emanating strength of love

Stillness through silence

with Dasa Sil Mata

under the Bodhi tree

do our hearts speak

and in the realms of Samsara

you'll always find me

Sitting at my desk drinking my favorite Sobe and just had a funny memory. "I heard they were coming out with a Nirvana Rock Band, yeah it comes with drums, one guitar, a mic, and a shotgun." R.I.P. Kurt Cobain but I had to laugh at that . Quoted from my man C Murphy.

While in Morocco on vacation, we got the see the most beautiful sunset every night. I just stood there for an hour watching the sun diving like a doplhin in slow motion into the sea, getting deep red as a fireball in the sky.

One of the nights I stood waiting at the beach walk, waiting for the sun to light up behind the palm trees, to get one of my best memories from the vacation.

I had my cousin, Nirvana, model for me today to test out some lighting setups on the grey seamless and a new editing technique.
