Mom: "hmmmm.....the tundra is colorful, the air is nippy......perhaps those PHOTOGRAPHERS will leave us alone for a while....."

Despite the vernal equinox occurring yesterday it's still a bit on the nippy side!!!
Thanks for all the kind comments and faves on my images, they are very much appreciated :)
A reward for hours spent staring at the night sky with the tempreture around -30 c. Nippy! - Karesuando, Sweden
2nd February 2019:
The sun came out, we had cloudy blue / blue sky and I needed to get out. So as soon as I could I was off.
Went off on one of my usual walks, but took a detour and found this tucked behind a garden spade and another number plaque for Wendy. See the photo on my photostream or via this link:

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)
Where I live it's not considered a cold part of the world. However we do get our cold spells! We get summer days as high as 35C (95F) but recently it has been down to a rather nippy -25C (-13F).
It's a challenge to get out to do photography, for sure! I bundle up but need some freedom with my hands. I have an old pair of LowePro gloves that barely, just barely give some protection from the cold, if only for about 10 minutes!
Thanks for looking, etc.:)

Hello everyone!
Yesterday was my birthday and my present to myself was to put my work aside and take my camera for a date. It was a very nippy morning, prompting me to cut short my photo excursion to just 100 frames. Here are a few. I also decided to treat myself to a little flickr time this evening.
These two were at the top of the mountain, in the Cairngorms, Scotland. Boy was it cold, how do they exist !!! They deserve a warm hug :-)
As beautiful as these creatures are be aware of them this time of year, they can be a bit nippy, especially if they have cignets.
This one was very hissy but posed beautifully for his/her portrait.
Catching up as always 😊
34 degrees and feels like 23... Glad to report Ernie and crew are doing fine. It is a tad nippy out there ;)
These are pretty nippy and have a really welcoming, bright interior. Perfect buses for an intense radial service like the 94.
And don't ever snap at Acton Green when it's dark!
November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

It's starting to get a bit nippy out there...lots of birds visiting the garden daily looking for food....

Prawle Point South Hams Coast Devon.
"Ramblings"
"sunday wor-ship"
A much needed sunday outing along the south hams coast with sunny spells and no rain forecast (nippy north-westerly breese)
Watched the sunrise from prawle point coastguard lookout station (southernmost tip of devon)
Start point would have been the better choice if you were after a colourful seascape sunrise session.
But what it lacked in colour around prawle point was made up for with some brief moody light over the channel.
Rewarding days birding and what a difference a few more weeks into early spring.
The rock pipits and wagtails were lively and in good numbers down along the rocky coast.
Plenty of stonechats showing ontop of the gorse and scrub along with my first male wheatear (two spotted) of the season.
Early evening and my last location of the day I had fairly good numbers of yellow hammers showing quite well along the hedgerows and stone walls and a good few common linnet flying around (not seen or herd any whitethroat yet)
Lost the light around 5pm but I had a nice bonus watching a few active hares around some inland fields.
This being the first time I have seen hares around this area and as I spend quite a bit of my time birding at this location throughout the year I was quite surprised I had not noticed them before.
On a couple of occasions during late spring 2022 early mornings I have watched fox from a distance stalking this area
and I am sure they are wise to a good hunting location.
Channel Mixed infra Red shot of a frozen pond in middleton park, Leeds. I was quite interested to see that snow looks the same colour as grass in Infra-Red :-)
"The Hounds of Denbies Hillside".....oh alright..."The Nippy Terriers of Ranmore Common...."Grrrr!!!
These two shots will always remind me of an eventful day on the 20th of May 2018.
Denbies Hillside... very early...butterflies.....travellers invaded field next to car park.....crossed field....they wont spoil our day.....attacked by three small terriers....kicked them off...torn trousers....gash in leg...GRRRRRR !!!!....called police...hospital...tetanus...deep wound clean....anti-biotics....home...cup of tea.....out again....Bookham Common.....this little fella...Wasp Beetle.....home....police statement.....tele...bed.
Who said wildlife photography was boring....well maybe the last bit.....mmmmmm..not me.

The Austin Seven was designed by Herbert Austin and Stanley Edge as a private venture, at Austin's home in Lickey Grange, and taken up by Austin after a frosty reception to his design by the Austin board had led to Herbert Austin threatening to take his design to rivals Wolseley.
The car was manufactured in many guises from 1922-39, selling over 290,000 models, and was licenced to BMW in Germany as the Dixi, to Nissan in Japan, Rosengart in France, and Austin America in the States as the Bantam.
The inexpensive and popular Seven revolutionised the car market in Britain.
The Nippy is typified by its rounded back, and sporty two seater body introduced mid-1933 with curved
front axle, underslung rear springs and tuned 21bhp engine. All models with low, wide shell traditional radiator. Some 1936 models have the more powerful pressure lubricated Speedy engine, and some late model cars with the standard 1937 three bearing engine
