This beautiful male goldfinch was shot through my kitchen window while finishing the last of the sunflower blooms.
There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on
the feelings as now in October.

for not being around much. Yesterday, 28th January, we suffered an extremely close family bereavement, so I am not able to be on Flickr very much. Please forgive my absences. Thank you to all for your kind words at this most difficult time. Your friendship and thoughts, and, yes, even prayers, are greatly appreciated and provide welcome solace.
I've always found that one effective way to counteract grief is to stay involved with one's routines and habits as much as possible. They provide needed distraction. For me, Flickr is certainly that and serves the purpose well.
