I still love the proportions. The Saucer feels a _little_ thick but I'm okay with it.
There are a lot of weight saving measures in the saucer because I do really, really want to build this in physical bricks. But alas, it would still be very heavy. Figuring out how to make the stand work is hard.
I do wish I was able to get the Dark Grey stripe down the perimeter of the engineering hull. But that would require reworking too much shaping I'm quite pleased with.
One trick that would really be something is if I could get grills on the blue portion of the warp nacelles - but given the interior geometry I think that's impossible. Another trick would be angling the blue so that it doesn't stagger as it goes down the length of the nacelle, but honestly, I'm not too bothered.

The color for the deflector array was really hard. Eventually, though (like after a decade and a half), I found two colors that I think "get it" - dark azure and reddish brown. The real prop had blue lights in a gold hub. This seems to be the best way to get that.
The other thing is that stud.io seems to handle flex tubes far less well than LDD. Consequently, the flex tubes I would use for the phaser arrays are not shown. But the gaps they fit into almost give the effect of a dark ring around the saucer, so it works for these photos!
A fun little design I worked up recently - The gold bricks from the Thanos glove thing are really nice! If I do build the Galaxy Class IRL, I want to work this into the stand.
One of my classic orthogonal views - I am so happy with these proportions. They were of course measured against the blueprints, but that was 2 or 3 years ago at this point. The body and engines are very similar to the galaxy class I already posted - the saucer is all new. The reason I rebuilt was twofold - one, I did not like how the snot technique created odd gaps on the underside, and two, I wanted LOTS more detail. Before it was just a big grey blob, and I realized that Star Trek ships live in the tiny splashes of color dotted all over them. So, here we are!
The "rivet counters" among you will surely note that there are too few lifeboats. Alas. The grill pieces on the nacelle pylons, however, are one of my _favorite_ details on this. The effect adds so much to an otherwise flat region.
